Revising a Use Case

You can revise a use case that is in work, frozen, or released, but needs to updated or changed in a controlled way. Since a use case does not appear in a specification or requirement structure, you must revise it on its Revisions page.

Required responsibilities:

  • Baseline: Leader (when the object is in the Frozen state) or Author

Before you begin: Open the use case that you want to revise. See Opening a Use Case.

  1. In the navigation pane, select Revisions.
The Revisions page for the use case opens.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Create Revision.

A new revision of the use case is created in the "Private" state. The Revision column updates to indicate that the current use case now has a higher revision available. The new use case revision has all of the same relationships to its parent objects that the previous revision had. After you have created the first revision of a use case, the Replace By New Revision and Replace By Last Revision commands are available from the Actions menu.
