To use Physics Methods Reuse, there are configuration steps that
require
the
cooperation
of the following user roles:
- Simulation Methods Developer: The Simulation Methods Developer is a simulation user who logs in with the Leader role.
-
Administrator: The Administrator is a user who logs in with the Owner role.
There are two ways to deploy the custom methods in
Physics Methods Reuse:
- Direct approach: The Simulation Methods Developer creates method files and an index file and saves them to a directory that is widely
accessible. Anyone that wants to use these custom methods must set an environment
variable.
- Data Setup approach: The Simulation Methods Developer imports the custom methods into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as VPM documents. The Administrator uses the Data Setup
app to
create a custom methods resource table and associates the VPM documents with the resource
table.
Note:
While the direct approach is simpler to implement and requires less collaboration
between user roles, the Data Setup approach takes advantage of the accessibility of the PLM server. Therefore, the Data Setup approach is easier for managing and deploying methods throughout distributed
offices.
The table below lists the supporting components that must be installed and configured for
each approach.
After deployment of the custom methods with either approach, the end user runs the Physics
Methods Reuse
app.
