You can access as many 3DEXPERIENCE drives as platforms you have been invited to, and connect one Box, one Dropbox, one Google Drive, and one OneDrive account.

This task shows you how to:

Install 3DEXPERIENCE Drive For Windows

You must install 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows desktop client to synchronize your online 3DEXPERIENCE Drive and your local content.

Before you begin:
  • 3DDrive is in preview mode or you have added it to a dashboard.
  • If the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher is not installed yet, install it first. For more information, see About the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher
  1. In the bottom of the left pane, click Install 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows.

    • If 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows has not been installed yet, a Checking installation status... message appears. Wait for the installation status check to finish then click Install 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows..
    • If 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows is already installed but is obsolete, click Update 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows.

  2. Follow the steps of the 3DEXPERIENCE Drive installation wizard.
  3. Restart your computer to complete the installation.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Drive icon appears in the notification area. Log in using your 3DEXPERIENCE ID to start synchronizing the files that you have uploaded to the online drive with your local folder.

Customize 3DEXPERIENCE Drive For Windows Client Synchronization Preferences

You can select the online drives you want to synchronize, and change the local folder synchronization paths that have been set by default.

  1. In the notification area, click 3DEXPERIENCE drive and do either of the following:
  2. Click Preferences or Preferences > Preferences.
  3. In the 3DEXPERIENCE Drive - Preferences dialog box, do either of the following for each of your platforms:
    • Select the Associate to this computer and synchronize option below the platform hosting the 3DEXPERIENCE drive you want to synchronize.
      Note: If you have access to more than one platform, you might need to change those you want to synchronize.


      Note: This option can be useful if you need to have an updated version of your online content in a computer that is not the usual one.
    • Click Open selective sync panel to select only some files and folders to synchronize.
    • Click Save debug material to download a .zip file that could be used to debug any issues you might have.
    • Click Change in front of the local folder to change the local path provided by default.
  4. Click OK.

    To configure 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows preferences from 3DDrive, at the bottom of the left pane of the 3DDrive app click Configure 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Window.

Update 3DEXPERIENCE Drive For Windows

If the installed version becomes obsolete, you can update 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows desktop client. The upgrade can be just a recommendation or mandatory which means that you must install the latest version to continue using the app.

Context: One of the alerts below must appear either in the Flyout User Interface - Toolbar or in the notification area :

  • : A recommended update is available . Click it to launch the update.
  • : The latest update is required to synchronize your drive. Click it to launch the update.

  1. Follow the steps of the 3DEXPERIENCE Drive installation wizard.
  2. Restart your computer to complete the installation.

To update 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows client from 3DDrive at the bottom of the left pane of the 3DDrive app click Update 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Window, and follow the wizard.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Drive for Windows desktop client is upgraded.

Log in using your 3DEXPERIENCE ID to start using the new version.

3DEXPERIENCE ID

Connect a Box, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive Account

You can connect, and access one Box, one Dropbox, one Google Drive service and one OneDrive regardless of the platforms you are member of.

Note: OneDrive for Business is also supported.

  1. In the left pane, click Box, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive.
  2. Sign in using your account.
