Information Panel

The Information panel is the fundamental center that provides detailed information about a selected asset, and options to work with this asset.

Introduction to the Information Panel

The structure of the panel comprises different sections and subsections that organize substantial sets of information about the selected asset. For example, its owner, origin, lifecycle, or even components, depending on the type of asset.

In addition, the panel provides you with several collaborative options to further manage the availability, traceability, and development of the asset.

Depending on where you open the Information panel, the quantity of information that you can visualize differs. Opening the Information panel from a collaborative space or a collection typically provides you with more information and options than when you open it from a 3DDrive folder.

When you open the Information panel from a 3DDrive folder, you can see only the following subsections:

  • General Information (with a reduced quantity of information)
  • History
  • Comments

INFO

The INFO section of the panel provides primary information pertaining to the type, origin, and history of the selected asset. This section also encompasses options that enhance collaboration around the selected asset. For example, review through annotations or comments.

General Information

The General Information subsection provides basic information about the selected asset:

Type The type of content of the asset (typically Document or Published Media Experience).

xMedia supports different types of content and assets that have various specificities.

Name The unique identifier of the asset, automatically defined at creation.
Description The description of the asset, if defined. You can enter a URL address, an email address, or a File Transfer Protocol link. This description is clickable and opens the link.

You can modify the description of an asset.

Owner The identity of the owner of the asset.
Creation Date The date and time of the creation of the asset.
Modification Date The date and time of the last modification of the asset. If not modified, this date is the same as the Creation Date.
Collaborative Space The collaborative space the asset belongs to.
Organization The name of the company associated with the asset (if any).
Maturity The current maturity state of the asset.

The maturity state of an asset lets collaborators know about its status within its lifecycle while determining who can access the asset and what actions they can perform with it.

History

The History subsection provides you with the list of the different versions of the selected asset. This list reflects the various modifications that occurred during the lifecycle of the asset.

The History subsection also lets you download a specific version of the asset to your local device.

Annotations

The Annotations subsection provides you with the list of annotations associated with the selected asset while giving you the ability to manage, preview, and collaborate with these annotations.

The subsection lets you visualize the current number of revisions for each annotation.

Comments

The Comments subsection lets you write and manage comments for the selected asset, thus enhancing collaboration between the different stakeholders involved in the development of the asset.

MEDIA

The MEDIA section provides taxonomic and semantic information about the selected asset.

Classification

The Classification subsection provides you with the list of taxonomic attributes associated with the selected asset.

Tags

The Tags subsection provides you with the list of 6WTags associated with the selected asset.

6WTags are tools that reveal the semantics of assets. 6WTags let you filter and refine the content of your searches when you look for specific assets. Thus, they provide contextual information about the assets while enhancing their findability and traceability.

Create and use 6WTags to filter the assets of your places and collections based on specific semantic criteria.

Stream

The Stream subsection provides you with information about the format, the resolution, and the render settings (if any) of the selected asset, depending on its type.

NETWORK

The NETWORK section provides information about the collaborative tasks associated with the selected asset.

Tasks

The Tasks subsection provides you with the list of tasks associated with the selected asset.

This subsection also lets you create and manage your own tasks for the asset.
