Product Properties

The Properties tab displays details about the object.

If you select several objects, the properties that have different values are indicated with (multiple) at the beginning of the line.

Viewing and Modifying the Properties of an Object

This table lists the details about the selected object. You can click to edit these details. Not all fields can be edited.

When editing, you can click Add Extensions to include additional attributes. An extension is a set of attributes. The dialog box that opens lists the extensions that are already attached, and you can start typing to search for the extension you want to add.

Note: The Add Extension command is supported on premises and on the private cloud only.

If you select an instance in a structure, the Properties tab displays the properties of the reference and the Instance tab displays the properties of the instance.

Field Description
Type The object type such as 'Physical Product'.
Title

The user-defined title of the object.

When editing the title, you can:

  • Apply the title of one object to all the selected objects: From the list, select the title of your choice.
  • Enter a new title for all the selected objects: Click Define for all , and then enter a title.
  • Replace a string of characters with another one for all the selected objects:
    1. Click Define for all .
    2. Click Replace with RegExp .
    3. Enter the regular expression to replace and the new expression in the corresponding boxes.

Note: You can also double-click the Title in the child product list to edit it.
Name

The unique identifier of the object, automatically defined at creation.

Revision

The revision level of the object.

Note: You can also click the Revision in the child product list to edit it.
Revision Comment View or enter a comment specific to the revision of the object.
Description

The description of the object, if defined. If you enter a URL, an email address, or a File Transfer Protocol link, this text is clickable and opens the link.

Creation Date

The date and time when the object was created.

Creation From If applicable, the object from which the product was created.
Scale The scale used in the display of the component compared to the physical size of the actual component.
Modification Date

The date and time when the object was last modified. If not modified, this date is the same as the Creation Date.

Maturity

The current maturity state of the object.

Note: You can also click the Maturity State in the child product list to edit it.
Organization The group or company that contains the object.
Owner The owner of the object.

To change the owner, use 3DSearch to select a user.

Important: You can only select a user that is in the same collaborative space and organization. For more information, see Changing the Owner of Objects and Moving Objects to Another Collaborative Space or Organization.

Collaborative Space

The collaborative space the object belongs to.

Locked By Indicates the user who has reserved the product.
Manufacturable/Procurable Indicates whether the product is either manufacturable or procurable.

If the switch is on, the product is real, and must be either produced or procured, based on the manufacturing responsibility. Manufacturable/Procurable items typically have an assigned enterprise item number (EIN).

If the switch is off, the product does not need to be produced nor procured, such as a design construction or a grouping artifact. These objects typically have no assigned EIN and no MEIs.
