Rules Tab

The Rules tab shows the expression and matrix rules associated with the model version.

Important: This tab lists matrix rules created in both Variant Management and Model Definition. You can only view matrix rules created in the Model Definition app in Model Definition. They are not listed on the Matrix Rules page in Variant Management.

Rule Items

Each rule item contains the following information:
Column Description
Color This is the color associated with the configuration rule object type in 6WTags.
Notes: This column is not visible in the data grid by default. If you show it in the data grid, it is always pinned to the left side. You must enable the Colorize option for the Type predicate in 6WTags to show the color tags in this column.
Title The title of the rule. Click to open the rule. On most devices, double-click with a delay to edit the title inline. On touch devices, touch to edit the title inline.
Name The automatically generated name of the rule. It cannot be edited.
Description The detailed description of the rule. Click in the column to edit the description inline.
Type The type of rule: Either Matrix Rule or Expression Rule.
Maturity State The lifecycle state of the rule. Rules are created in the In Work state. Click the hyperlink in the column to edit the maturity.
Responsible The person who owns the rule. By default, this is the creator. Click the hyperlink in the column to edit the owner.
Creation Date The date on which the rule was created.
Modification Date The date on which the rule was last edited.
Collabspace The collaborative space to which the rule belongs.
Organization The organization to which the rule belongs.
Action The context menu for the rule.
Note: You can configure which columns are visible in the data grid view and how wide their content is. For more information, see Configuring the Data Grid View.

Page Actions

The following actions are available from the page toolbar:
Action Description For More Information
Search Filters the objects displayed to only those whose Title contains the characters that you enter. Filtering Listed Items by Title
View Content Opens the preview pane for the expression rule or matrix rule. This content is read-only. Open the rule to edit it. Previewing a Rule
New > New Matrix Rule Creates a new matrix rule. Creating or Editing a Matrix Rule
New > New Expression Rule Creates a new expression rule. Creating or Editing Expression Rules
New > Add Existing Rule Allows you to select an existing expression or matrix rule from the same model version chain to add to this model version. Adding an Existing Rule to a Model Version
Remove Removes the selected expression rules and matrix rules from the model version.
View Selects the view for the rules. Data Views
Sort Sorts the rules alphabetically or reverse alphabetically by any column other than Color or Action.

Rule Context Actions

Each rule has the following actions available in its context menu:

Maturity Opens the Maturity dialog box for the rule, where you can promote or demote it to another maturity state. Changing Maturity
