Civil Engineering Section

The Civil Engineering section of the action bar provides commands for setting BIM attributes, tagging geometry semantically, defining a specification form a feature, and capture component specifications for instantiation purposes.

Extract Polyhedral Large Cloud of Points
Allows you to isolate a sub-part of the point cloud inside or outside a bounding box, convert it into mesh data, and handle it with the Civil Engineering 3D Design commands.
For more information, see Extracting and Converting a Portion of a Large Point Cloud into a Polyhedral Mesh.

Bridge Assistant Design
Guides you though the process of designing a bridge or a portion of a bridge. To design a bridge:
  • Select an alignment curve and a terrain.
  • Define the deck repartition along the alignment curve (similar to curvilinear pattern).
  • Select object types for decks.
  • Select object types for support elements.
  • Click Process to instantiate decks and support elements.
See Creating the Bridge Layout Distribution.

Platform Cross Section
Creates a platform cross section sketch.
A platform cross section is an input necessary for the platform creation.
See Creating a Platform Cross Section and Associated Object Types.

Civil Set
Creates a stretch set called Civil Set.xx in the tree.
You can create a stretch set from existing stretches, subgrades, earthworks, platforms and other inputs (typed/non-typed surfaces or other user feature results) to edit a terrain, and create consolidated subgrade layers.
See Creating a Stretch Set.
Civil Linear Stretch
Creates a linear stretch from a subgrade or earthwork.
You can create a linear stretch from existing subgrades or earthworks, platforms to edit a terrain, and create consolidated subgrade layers or earthworks, without gap/abrupt transitions.
See Creating a Linear Stretch

Platform Earthwork
Creates a platform.
See Creating a Platform Earthwork.

BIM Attributes
Allows you to read and write your business attributes, manage your property sets and classify your objects according to BIM standards.
See Product Attributes, Construction Classification Standards, and Attributes Spreadsheet.

Semantic Geometry Tagger
Provides a visual semantic tag on geometries to help you diagnose the BIM model, and assign missing semantic tags on geometries.
See Tagging and Publishing Semantic Geometry Elements.
Multiple Split
Splits solid, volume, surface or wire into multiple entities according to a pattern distribution.
See Splitting Geometry.

Capture Component Specifications
Defines component positions with the help of axis systems, selects object types as components, captures component specifications needed to instantiate components, and instantiates components in part context.
See Defining Specification Features, Defining Specification Patterns, Defining Input Patterns, Specifying and Editing Inputs for Instantiation, and Customizing Specification Feature Naming and Numbering.

User Feature
Creates a user feature. A feature-based design that is a user feature template or a power-copy.
See Part Design: Creating and Working with User Features.

Define Specification
Defines a specification from a feature so it can be later instantiated as a product.
See Defining Specifications.
