Object Summary

The objects in X-CAD Design Management and their property details are stored in the ENOVIA.

To access this page:

  1. Search for objects and in the Search Results page.
  2. Select the object and click drop-down arrow at the end of object name. Drop-down list appears.
  3. Select Display detail option from the drop-down. Object summary appears.

Fields

The part Properties page contains all details entered when the part was created or modified.

Field Description
Thumbnail Shows the thumbnail of the primary image associated with the object.
Actions

The actions you can perform on the object:

  • - View and select subscriptions for a document. See Common Components User's Guide.
  • - To download the structure to your local disk, see Downloading a Structure.
  • - To open a file in the respective integration application from the web browser. The availability of this command depends on the mapping done in the integration app. For certain application other than X-CAD Design, checkout icon will be visible even if the mapping is not present, but will display an error message.
  • - The file is unlocked. Click to lock.
  • - The file is locked. Click to unlock.
  • - Click to view the file in AutoVue.

Active Iteration The name of the active iteration amongst all iterations connected to the revision. Click the link to open the iteration's Details page.
Instance Of

The name of the latest connected family of the instance. The major instance object's Details Page has a link to major Family object and minor instance object's Details Page has a link to minor Family object.

In case of a family with nested instances, the connected family object is displayed for nested instances. Also if one iteration of instance is connected to the two iterations of family then latest connected family link is displayed on instance details page.

Type Type of the object.
Name The name of the object.
Revision Object revision number or code specified when the part was created, typically A, B, C or 1,2,3 …
Description Details about the object.
Title Title of the object.
State Current state of the object in its lifecycle.
Owner User who has responsibility for the object.
Locked By User who has locked the object.
Save Comment Comments for the object.
Policy Used to govern the lifecycle states and business behavior of the object
Created On Date and time the object was created.
Organization Organization owning the object.
Collaborative Space Collaborative Space assigned to user.
Last Modified Date Date and time of the last modification made on the object.
Renamed From

The previous name of the object it was renamed from.

Note: This field is displayed only if the object is renamed.

Actions

Use the Actions menu to perform these tasks for the selected object. You can only use these menu items if you are assigned the integration for the object type. The Actions menu and lock/unlock is not available for iterations.
Action Description For More Information
Edit Details To edit the details of the object. The Edit Details option is available on the page toolbar. The Edit Details command is not available for iterations.
Download Structure Copy the file to your local computer system. See Downloading a Structure.
EBOM Sync Create an Engineering BOM (EBOM) based on the selected CAD object. See Creating an EBOM from CAD Objects.
Rename Rename the CAD model. See Renaming CAD Objects.
SaveAs Save a CAD object with a different name. See Save As.
Purge Permanently delete the CAD objects from the ENOVIA collaboration platform database. See Purging.
Promote Promote the selected object to the next state in the object's lifecycle. See Promoting Objects
Demote Demote the selected object to the previous state in the object's lifecycle. See Demoting an object.
Lock Lock an unlocked object. See Locking and Unlocking CAD Objects.
UnLock Unlock an object that you locked. See Locking and Unlocking CAD Objects.
Transfer Ownership Change the owner, organization, and the collaborative space of an object. See Transfer Ownership
