Authoring Section - Secondary Area

The secondary area of the Authoring section provides commands for using manufacturing processes.

Insert Group
Inserts a group of manufactured items.
Select a manufactured item to create an empty group as predecessor. Drag and drop manufactured items to the group.

Assignment Manager

Relations

Attributes
Allows browsing and modifying object attributes.
Select an object to browse or modify its attributes.


Create Precedence Constraint
Creates a precedence constraint between two manufactured items.
A precedence constraint connects two sibling manufactured items. The first manufactured item completes before the second item can start.

Requirement Browser
Browses existing requirements.
The Requirement Browser lets you manage: the specification link between a manufactured item or operation and a group of requirements and the requirements assignments.

Shows Assigned Items Only
Shows only those objects assigned to a manufactured item, and hides others.
Select the manufactured item whose assigned objects you want to view.

Manage Alternates
Lets you Author and navigate alternates of manufactured items.
An alternate is a relationship that links two manufactured item references. A manufactured item reference: Define as an alternate for one or more manufactured items references defined as alternate and can have a complete child-manufacturing assembly structure.

Manage Origins
Assigns or removes origin links on manufactured items, systems, operations, or resources.
Places an origin link between objects of the same type and lets you determine from which object is the origin of the selected.

Issue Management
Lets you create and assign issues, and view existing ones directly from the Application.
From the tree or from the 3D view, select an object.

Create Item-Product Scope
Creates an Item-Product scope.
Select a reference item and a reference product. The created scope link delimits the subset of the product structure implements the item.

Create Item-Product Scope from Search
Creates an Item-Product scope by searching a product. Select a reference item. Select a reference product using the Search box in the top barto create the scope link

Flyout for Managing Assignments and Links



Assignment Manager
Manages assignments such as:
  • products to a selected item
  • items to a selected operation
  • resources and detailing task to a selected operation
  • operations and detailing tasks to a selected resource
  • requirements to a selected item or operation.
In the Assignment Manager panel, use the arrow buttons to assign or unassign PPR objects on the selected object.

Assembly Assignment Assistant
Defining an Item-System scope, the System Assignment Assistant you can use to assign items to operations. It is possible to assign, unassign, and reassign items.

Flyout for Relations



Relations
Displays the selected object's relations with other objects in the current session.
The panel displays relations such as scope links, implement links, and data requirements. It also displays precedence constraints, product flows, and time constraints.

Sheet Editor
View and edit the properties of multiple objects in a spreadsheet view.

Filter PPR Content
Filters PPR content based on predefined configurations.
The PPR Configuration Filtering panel lets you filter content in root products, manufactured items, systems, and resources that have predefined configurations.

Tree Reordering
Reorders objects in the tree.
See Reordering Objects in the Tree.


Order by Sequence
Sorts operations and systems in the tree and Gantt chart by taking into account their sequencing.
Select a system (the root system, for example). The structure of the selected system reorders according to the begin times of the operations.
