The primary area of the Authoring section provides commands for creating systems and operations, creating System Item scope, and managing system structures.

Load Resulting Products
Loading the resulting products perform automatically when the app is in transition. This load may take longer when the size of the resulting product structure is large. Now you can load them partially at the app transition or on demand. This is also available when you RMB on an item in the Specification tree.

Create Product Flow
Creates a product flow between two systems, between two operations, or between a system and an operation.
Select two systems or operations.

Creates a product flow from the first selected object to the second.

Tree Reordering

Relations
Displays the selected object's relations with other objects in the current session.
The panel displays relations such as scope links, implement links. Including data requirements, precedence constraints, product flows, and time constraints.

Workload Balancing

Premises Usage
Applies a production demand and a shift model to compute the weighted time of operations.
Select a system, then select:
  • the production demand (that is, the quantity to manufacture) for a number of items and configurations.
  • shift models containing shift schedule information.

The weighted time of the operations is displayed in the Gantt chart and Workload Balancing panel.

PPR Spreadsheet Editor
Starts the PPR Spreadsheet Editor.
Lets you browse and edit the planning and simulation data in a spreadsheet view.

Existing Operation as Copy
Inserts a copy of an existing operation.
Select a parent in the system structure then select an existing operation using the search box in the top bar.

A copy of the selected operation is inserted: it is prefixed with "prefix defined".

Existing Product or Resource...
Inserts an existing product or resource.
Select a parent in the resource structure then select an existing resource or product using the search box in the top bar.

Manage Scopes
Creates, deletes, or reconnects a System Item scope or a System workplan scope.
Select a reference system.

In the Manage Scopes panel:

  • Click Add then select a reference item or workplan system to create the scope.
  • Click Remove to delete a scope.
  • Click Reconnect to fix a broken scope.

Create Resource-System Scope
Manages incomplete or inconsistent implement links between systems/operations and items or work plans.

Remove Resource-System Scope
Manages item assignments to systems/operations using the System Assignment Assistant.

Assignment Manager
Manages assignments such as:
  • products to a selected item
  • items to a selected operation
  • resources and detailing the task to a selected operation
  • operations and detailing tasks to a selected resource.
In the Assignment Manager panel, use the arrow to assign or unassign PPR objects on the selected object.

Systems Assignment Assistant
Manages item assignments to systems/operations using the System Assignment Assistant.
Select systems and operations in the left-hand and or the right-hand lists in the assistant. Available and assigned items appear and displayed in a 3D viewer.

Use the arrows to assign or unassign selected items.

Create Precedence Link
Creates a precedence constraint between two operations.
Select two operations to create a precedence constraint between them.

The first operation ends before the second starts.

Create Start-Start Link
Creates a start-start synchronization link between the two operations.
Select two operations to create a start-start synchronization link between them.

The two operations start at the same time.

Create End-End Link
Creates an end-end synchronization link between the two operations.
Select two operations to create an end-end synchronization link between them.

The two operations end at the same time.

Create End-Start Link
Creates an end-start constraint link between the two operations.
Select two operations to create an end-start constraint link between them.

The first operation ends before the second starts. You can specify a delay between the two operations.

Create Previous Cycle Link

Tree Reordering
Reorders objects in the tree.
See Reordering Objects in the Tree.


Order by Sequence
Sorts operations and systems in the tree and Gantt chart by taking into account their sequencing.
Select a system (the root system, for example).

This reorders the structure of the selected system according to the begin times of the operations.

Filter PPR Content
Filters PPR content based on predefined configurations.
The PPR Configuration Filtering panel lets you filter content in root products, items, systems, and resources that have predefined configurations.

Flyout for Gantt



Manufacturing System Gantt
Displays a tree view and a flow view of systems and operations, and provides information about systems, operations, parts, fasteners, and resources.
Select a system.

The Gantt chart displays systems and their operations, and creates operations and constraints between operations.

Resource Utilization Gantt
Displays a tree view and a flow view of resources and operations, and provides information about operations assigned to resources, operation times, resource utilization, and associated parts.
Select a Cell or Area resource.
The Gantt chart displays resources and their assigned operations. You can assign operations to resources and specify a time mode on operations.

Flyout for Balancing



Workload Balancing
Balances operations between systems using a bar chart.
Select a system.

A panel appears to comprise a bar chart and a table showing system information and operations sequencing.

In the bar chart, drag and then drop rectangles, which represent operations, to balance the workload between systems.

Resource Balancing
Balance operations on working and nonworking resources.
