Setup Section

The primary area of the Setup section of the action bar provides commands for setting up your machining app.

This page discusses:

Mount and Import Resources
Mounts and imports resources such as manufacturing products, accessories, adaptors and tools.

Import Cutting Tools from Database
See Flyout for Composing Resources.

Resource Creation
Creates a resource such as a tool, tool holder, or tool assemblies.
See Using Tools and Tool Assemblies.

Part Operation
Creates an object linking all the actions to machine a part.
See Creating a Part Operation.
Reuse Programming
Copies one or more programs from a reference manufacturing cell to another manufacturing cell.

You can import all machining data, or specific machining items such as machines, tools, accessories, and tool paths.

See About Reuse Programming.

Synchronize Data with Planning
Synchronizes data with planning to generate or update a manufacturing product.
See Synchronizing with Planning Data.

Rough Stock
Creates a block of raw material to be machined to produce the part.
See Creating a Rough Stock.

Points Creation Wizard
See Flyout for Using Wizards.

New Simulation State
See Flyout for Managing Resource States.

Import Cutting Tools from Database
Imports existing tool and tool assemblies from the database.
See Importing Machines and Tool Assemblies.

Replace Resources
Replaces resources from the database, such as machines or tools.
See Replacing Imported Tool Resources or Machines.

Insert Capable Resources
Inserts resources such as machines and accessories, defined in the planning.
See Insert Capable Resources.

Points Creation Wizard
Creates points for machining on the fly.
See Creating Points and Lines with the Program Wizard.

Limit Lines Creation Wizard
Creates limit lines by projecting a sketch or polyline, or by picking points.
See Creating Points and Lines with the Program Wizard.

Flyout for Managing Resource States

New Simulation State
Creates a simulation state. A state is a snapshot of the positions of the contents.
See Creating a Simulation State.
See Active Simulation Objects, Contexts, and Simulation States.

Import Reference Status
Imports existing simulation states into the current context.
From the tree, select the objects whose states you want to import. The imported states are then available in the correct context.
