Setup Section

The primary area of the Setup section provides commands for copying, positioning, jogging resources, along with using sensors.

This page discusses:

Snap
See Flyout for Copying and Positioning Resources
Jog Mechanism
Manipulates the commands (or joints) of a mechanism.
See Flyout for Jogging and Conveyors
New Simulation State
Takes snapshots of the states of each object within a simulation.
See Flyout for Simulation States
Create a beam sensor
See Flyout for Creating Sensors
External Data Source
You can activate a resource in 3DEXPERIENCE to listen to a specified TCP/IP port and reflect the incoming joint values in the work area.
See Flyout for External Data Source and Open Platform Server Parameters
Simulation part creation
Defines a part generator that creates simulation parts during simulation.
See Flyout for Simulation part creation

Flyout for Copying and Positioning Resources

Snap
Juxtaposes two items. One item moves to a specific point in reference to the other.
See Snapping Products or Resources.
Align and Distribute
Aligns or distributes items to other object or points in space.
See Aligning, Rotating, and Distributing the Resource.
Mirror
Moves an item so that it is located in a mirror image of its previous location.
See Mirroring Objects
Offset Plane
Defines a plane to use as a temporary reference for positioning other elements.
See Using Offset Planes

Flyout for Jogging and Conveyors

Jog Mechanism
Manipulates the commands (or joints) of a mechanism.
See Jogging a Device
Conveyor Network
Manages entire conveyor systems and verifies the path direction of the track.
See Managing the Conveyor Network

Flyout for Simulation States

New Simulation State
Takes snapshots of the states of each object within a simulation.
See Creating a Simulation State
Import Reference States
Import simulation states that have been created on the reference products/resources instantiated into the current context.
Click Import Reference States . On the tree, select the objects whose states you want to import. The states appear on the dialog box. Click OK.
See Creating a Simulation State

Flyout for Creating Sensors

Create a beam sensor
Creates a beam sensor for simulation part detection.
See Creating a Beam Sensor.
Plane sensor
Defines a 2D geometry where objects crossing or contained within trigger logic signals.
See Creating a Plane Sensor.
Volume sensor
Defines a volume where objects crossing or contained within trigger logic signals.
See Creating a Volume Sensor

Flyout for External Data Source and Open Platform Server Parameters

External Data Source
You can activate a resource in 3DEXPERIENCE to listen to a specified TCP/IP port and reflect the incoming joint values in the work area.
See Managing External Connections of Resources
Define OPC server parameters
You can define the Open Platform Communications (OPC) server parameters.
See About OPC Unified Architecture Information Panel

Flyout for Simulation part creation

Simulation part creation
Defines a part generator that creates simulation parts during simulation.
See Sourcing and Sinking Workpieces during Simulation
Simulation part transformation
Defines a transformation on simulation parts created during simulation.
See Destroy Workpieces
