PPR Authoring Section

Inherited from DELMIA Planning Structure app, the PPR Authoring section provides commands to author all PPR object types in Live Simulation mode.

Assignment Manager
Manages assignments such as:
  • products to a selected item
  • items to a selected operation
  • resources and detailing task to a selected operation
  • operations and detailing tasks to a selected resource
  • requirements to a selected item or operation.
In the Assignment Manager panel, use the arrow buttons to assign or unassign PPR objects on the selected object.

Process Gantt

Create Precedence Link
See Flyout for Creating Precedence Links.
Create Product Flow
Creates a product flow between two systems, between two operations, or between a system and an operation.
A product flow is created from the first selected object to the second one.

Create sequence between children operations
Creates sequence between children operations respecting the order of the tree.
PPR Spreadsheet Editor
Starts the PPR Spreadsheet Editor.
Lets you browse and edit the planning and simulation data in a spreadsheet view.

3D View
Displays the 3D representation of the selected PPR object.

The 3D View lets you visualize:

  • The 3D representation of a product or resource
  • The build-up of an item, system or operation.

Manage Capable Resources
Manages links between capable resources and systems, operations, and work instructions.
Select a system, operation or work instruction and create a capable resource link using either a resource in context, or a resource reference.

Manage Resources Structures
Creates and manages the resource structures of the selected workplan or service workplan.

The Manage Resources Structures panel enables you to create the capable resources and assets structures of the selected workplan or service workplan.

Documents
Allows you to attach or detach Attachments or Specifications to an object and preview them in another panel.

Create/Update Item Structure
Creates or updates an item structure from a product structure.
Select a product and an associated item.

Specify how the item structure is to be generated. This also depends on selected Industry mode in Me > Preferences.

Set options to specify how the various items are to be generated for parts and assemblies.

Attributes
Allows browsing and modifying object attributes.
Select an object to browse or modify its attributes.
Unload Evolved Instance
Unloads and removes permanently selected evolved instances of items, workplans, systems, operations or resources.

Load Resulting Product
Loads the resulting product of items.
Select one or more items to load the resulting product.

Manage Origins
See Flyout for Managing Origins.
Manage Resulting Product
Starts the Manage Resulting Product panel.
Open your manufacturing assembly and product structures, and select one or several manufactured items.

Manufacturing Assembly
Inserts a Manufacturing Assembly.
Select an item to create the Manufacturing Assembly as predecessor.

Provided Part
Inserts a Provided Part.
Select an item to create the Provided Part as predecessor.

Existing Item
Inserts an existing item.
Select an item then select an existing item using the search box in the top bar.

Workplan
Inserts a workplan.
Select a parent in the structure where you want to create the workplan.

Header Workplan
Inserts a Header workplan.
Select a PPR Context where you want to create the Header workplan taking into that:
  • Header workplans cannot be inserted under another parent and can only have workplans as children.
  • You can link a Header workplan to an asset structure, and create scope links between Header workplans and items.
  • You cannot link a Header workplan to a capable resource structure, a system output, and an origin.
  • You cannot create scope links between Header workplans and Manufactured items.
  • You cannot create product flows between Workplans inserted under a Header workplan.

General System
Inserts a General system.
Select a parent in the system structure where you want to create the General system.

Existing Workplan...
Inserts an existing workplan.
Select a parent in the workplan structure then select an existing workplan using the search box in the top bar.

Existing Header Workplan...
Inserts an existing Header workplan.
Select a PPR Context then select an existing Header workplan using the search box in the top bar.

Existing System...
Inserts an existing system.

Insert Options
Inserts a system/operation in a system/operation structure with product flow between the systems/operations.
In the System/Operation Insert Options panel, select a position in the system/operation structure where to insert the system/operation.

Header Operation
Inserts a Header operation.
Select a parent in the system structure where you want to create the Header operation.

Inserts a Point Fastening operation.

Existing Operation as Copy
Inserts a copy of an existing operation.
Select a parent in the system structure then select an existing operation using the search box in the top bar.

A copy of the selected operation is inserted: it is prefixed with "prefix defined".

Insert Options
Inserts a system/operation in a system/operation structure with product flow between the systems/operations.
In the System/Operation Insert Options panel, select a position in the system/operation structure where to insert the system/operation.

Create Text Instruction
Creates a text instruction using rich text content.

Create Data Collect Plan Instruction
Creates a work instruction that directs workers to provide information such as inventory tracking or defect counts.
Important: To access this command, you need to have the Work Instructions license.

Create Data Collect Checklist Instruction
Creates a data collect composed of boolean checks to be performed.
Important: To access this command, you need to have the Work Instructions license.

Create Sign Off Instruction
Creates a work instruction that requires a sign off as part of the work process.

Create Alert Instruction
Creates an alert work instruction whenever you want to warn workers about safety or equipment concerns in an operation.

Quick Edit
Edits a work instruction as part of the work process.

Area
Inserts an Area resource, which is an organizational resource.
Select a parent in the resource structure where you want to create the Area resource.

Inserts a Manufacturing Cell resource, which is an organizational resource.
Select a parent in the resource structure where you want to create the Manufacturing Cell resource.

Flyout for Managing Scopes

Manage Process Scopes
Creates, deletes, or reconnects a System-Item scope, a System-Workplan scope, or a Workplan-Item scope.
Right-click a system or a workplan to access the command from the context menu.

Manage Inconsistent Item-Product Scopes
Modifies or reconnects Item-Product scopes.
An inconsistent scope can be a broken scope or a resolved scope.

Flyout for Gantt Charts and Balancing

Process Gantt
Displays a tree view and a flow view of systems and operations, and provides information about systems, operations, parts, fasteners and resources.
Select a system.

The Gantt chart displays systems and their operations, and can be used to create operations and constraints between operations.

Workload Balancing
Balances operations between systems using a bar chart.
Select a system.

A panel appears comprising a bar chart and a table showing system information and operations sequencing.

In the bar chart, drag and drop rectangles, which represent operations, to balance the workload between systems.

Flyout for Managing PPR Data Display

Relations
Displays the selected object's relations with other objects in the current session.
The panel displays relations such as scope links, implement links, data requirements, precedence constraints, product flows, and time constraints.

Tree Reordering
Reorders objects in the tree.
See Reordering Objects in the Tree.
Order by Sequence
Sorts operations and systems in the tree and Gantt chart by taking into account their sequencing.
Select a system (the root system, for example).

The structure of the selected system is reordered according to the begin times of the operations.

Filter PPR Content
Filters PPR content based on predefined configurations.
The PPR Configuration Filtering panel lets you filter content in root products, items, systems, and resources that have predefined configurations.

Flyout for Managing Origins

Manage Origins
Assigns or removes origin links on items, systems, operations, or resources.
An origin link:
  • Is set between objects of the same type.
  • Lets you determine from which object is the origin of the selected one.

Manage Alternates and Substitutes
Lets you author and navigate alternates of items.
An alternate is a relationship that links two item references.

An item reference:

  • can be defined as an alternate for one or more item references
  • defined as alternate can have a complete structure.
