About Modifying Functional Plastic Parts Features in Natural Shape

You can modify a Functional Plastic Parts feature in Natural Shape. You can open the live local modifier in Natural Shape and modify it as required.

You can select a feature and modify it as required in Natural Shape. When you modify a feature in Natural Shape, other features appear transparent and are not available for selection.

You can modify following Functional Plastic Parts features in Natural Shape:

  • Individual faces of shell property. For more information, see Setting Shell Properties.
  • Inner or outer faces of features with walls, such as boss, push, pull, and cutout. Depending on your selection, inner or outer core can be edited in Natural Shape, while the other core becomes transparent and cannot be selected.

After you enter the Natural Shape app, you can modify the feature only in Natural Shape. If you want to modify the feature in Functional Plastic Parts, you must delete the corresponding Live Local Modifier node. Consequently, the modifications done in Natural Shape are also deleted.

You can double-click the Live Local Modifier node and modify the feature in Natural Shape.

Live Local ModifierIf you create a local modifier on the feature and then modify it in Natural Shape, the live local modifier is applied to both the feature and the local modifier.

Note: If you move a feature that contains a live local modifier, the Live Local Modifier node is deleted.
