Bookmark Objects

You can create a bookmark structure to organize your content by adding existing content from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform or by uploading content from your computer. You can edit your bookmark structure only using Bookmark Editor.

Edit a Document

You can update a document, modify it, and save the changes to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

  1. Open a bookmark that contains documents and select a document to modify.
  2. Click Edit File.
  3. Edit the file as required.
  4. Click Update File to save the modifications to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

    Note: Click Undo Edit to discard all the edits done to a document.

Replace an Object

You can replace the existing revision of an object by another revision using the Replace by Revision command. You can also replace an existing revision of an object by latest revision using the Replace by Latest Revision command.

Before you begin: Ensure that multiple revisions of the document exist.
  1. Do one of the following.
    • To replace an object with a revision of the object, select the object or the document in the content view and click Replace by Revision.
    • To replace multiple objects with the latest revision of the objects, select them and click Replace by Latest Revision.

      You can select only 100 objects.

  2. For the Replace by Revision, in the Revision Explorer dialog box, select the required revision and click OK.
    The selected object is replaced by the revision. The Is Last Revision column shows if the object is the latest revision and allows you to change it to the revision of choice.

Notes:
  • You cannot Replace by Revision or Replace by Latest Revision when a bookmark or a sub level product is selected.
  • When selected objects have a common revision, one of them is replaced and the others are removed.

Download Documents

You can download documents attached to a bookmark.

  1. Select a document.
  2. Click Download File to download the file attached to the document on your device.
    The document is downloaded to your computer.
    Note: Bookmark Editor does not support bulk download panel and download of CAD components from bookmarks.

Find Objects in Context

You can use the Find in Context option to find objects inside a structure and expand the structure to those specific nodes or to find objects connected to a bookmark.

You can select a specific column from the options to search an object in a fixed column.

Before you begin:
  • In Preferences, you must select the Allow Product Expand option to enable this option in the context menu. For more details, see Customizing Preferences.
  • Find in Context option is valid only for physical products.
Note: The Find in Context option is unavailable in the Favorite section, and when an invalid product or object is selected.
  1. Select a physical product.
  2. Click Find in Context.

    You can also right-click a physical product in a bookmark and click Find in Context.

    The Find in dialog box appears.
  3. Enter your query or drag an object into the textbox.

    The wildcard character * is not supported in the textbox.

  4. Optional: Select the Perform find for objects connected to the bookmark check box.
    If you select this check box, the connected content of the bookmark that is available in the grid is searched.

    If you do not select this check box and click Find in Context without selecting any product, the first 20 products in the bookmark are searched.

  5. Select a column from the options to search an object in a specific column.

    If no column is selected, find in is deactivated. Select at least one column to search an object.

    You cannot find an object in the isLastRevision and the date-time columns.

  6. Click Find. You can also press Enter to search.
    If there are objects matching your search criteria, all the matching instances in the product structure are expanded and highlighed.
  7. Click < or > to move from one result to another. Click Select All to select all the results.

    Notes:
    • To cancel the search, click Find in Context or press Esc.
    • When you expand or collapse, delete or remove, copy or cut or paste, refresh the bookmarks, or close the Find In dialog box, the Find in Context is reset.
    • If the indexed value is different from the value in the columns, the columns are not searched.
