Context Toolbars

Context toolbars are smart toolbars that contain only those commands that can be applied to the current selection.

A context toolbar appears and displays the possible actions when at least a single sketch element is selected. The context toolbar shows the most frequently used commands.

Construction Element
Converts the sketcher element into construction element.
See Converting Standard into Construction Elements.
Geometrical Element
Converts the sketcher element into geometrical element.
See Converting Standard into Construction Elements.
Chamfer
Creates a chamfer between the two intersecting curves.
See Creating Chamfers.
Corner
Creates a corner.
See Creating Corners.
Trim
Trims the unnecessary part of a curve based on a relimiting element.
See Trimming Elements.
Break
Breaks the elements.
See Breaking Elements.
Circle from Point
Creates a circle.
See Creating Circles.
Offset
Duplicates the selected element by offsetting.
See Duplicating 2D Elements Using Offset.
Auto Search
Searches and selects the different elements of the profile.
See Performing Auto-Search on Profiles.
Auto Search with Tangent Propagation
Searches and selects the elements that are tangential to the profile.
See Performing Auto-Search on Profiles.
Intersect 3D Elements
Intersects 3D elements with the sketch plane.
See Intersecting 3D Elements with the View Plane.
Project 3D Elements
Projects 3D elements onto the sketch plane.
See Projecting 3D Elements onto the View Plane.
Project 3D Silhouette Edges
Projects silhouette edges of 3D elements onto the sketch plane.
See Projecting 3D Silhouette Edges.
Horizontal
Creates a horizontal constraint on the selected line.
See Applying Constraints.
Vertical
Creates a vertical constraint on the selected line.
See Applying Constraints.
Group
Groups together to create a rigid set.
See Grouping Sketch Elements Together.
Select geometrical elements
Selects the geometrical elements that compose the group.
See Grouping Sketch Elements Together.
Fix
Fixes the position and the size of the element by creating a fix constraint.
Activate
Activates the constraint so as to be considered by the solver of constraints.
Deactivate
Deactivates the constraints so as not to be considered by the solver of constraints.

Notes:
  • The commands available in the context toolbar change based on the selected elements.
  • The possible commands proposed are based on the type of selected elements and the context in which the element is itself.

For example, if the element is already constrained, or if the element is shared by another element, the available commands will be different for a single element, and an element shared by another element.

The following table depicts the different commands proposed by Sketcher app in the context toolbar according to the selection:

    SelectionCommandConditions for selection
    One point
    • Depending on the geometry type, standard or construction, the command available is Construction Element or Geometrical Element .
    • If the point is used as an extremity of curve, it is possible to isolate this point using Break.
    • If the geometry is not already fixed, it is possible to create a Fixconstraint.
    • If the point is not shared by another geometry, it is possible to create a circle . The point is used as a center of the circle and transformed into a construction element.
    • If an element is shared by two curves, it is possible to create a corner or a chamfer .
    • If the geometry is not already a part of a group, it is possible to create a Group constraint.
    • Trim and Break commands are available for all curves except for Conic or Connect curve.
    • Auto Search is available if an element is connected to another element.
    • Auto Search with Tangent Propagation is available if an element is tangential to another element.
    • Horizontal constraint is available only for a line that is not constrained horizontally already.
    • Vertical constraint is available only for line that is not constrained vertically already.
    • Offset constraint is available only when manifold input or wire is not self intersecting.
    • Deactivate constraint is available only when a constraint is active.
    • Add , Subtract , and Intersect Location are available only on the selection of at least one of the several intersecting closed profiles.
