Compliance Portfolio

A compliance portfolio provides Compliance Engineers the ability to choose parts for a collection that allows engineers to perform environmental analysis and generate compliance for distribution to customers and other organizations.. You can also maintain a portfolio of Manufacturer Equivalent Parts (MEPs), Materials, and Substances.

The parts portfolio is a personal "set" that allows Compliance Engineers to maintain a list of parts (typically assemblies) that need to be reported. The compliance portfolio provides the ability to quickly run compliance and exports on a selected set of parts. For example, the personal "set" can represent a list of assemblies for a specific program that must be tracked and analyzed on a daily basis.

Delete Deletes selected parts.

The app checks for all parent parts that reference the selected parts. If any parent parts are found that are not also selected to be deleted, a warning message displays that those parts cannot be deleted. If the parent part of a selected part is also selected to be deleted, the parent part must be deleted first or disconnected before the child can be deleted.

-

The app adds all descendant parts to the set of selected parts to be deleted. If any descendant parts are referenced by a part that is not in the set to be deleted, you cannot delete that descendant part or any of its descendants below it.

Compliance Commands

The menu includes these actions:

Action DescriptionFor More Information
Roll Up Compliance DataBrings selected part compliance values up to date based on changes to referenced objects in the part structure including enterprise parts, manufacturer equivalent parts, materials, substances, and compliance definitions.

Runs as a background job that recursively updates related objects to recalculate compliance data. The job completes when the selected parts and their subordinate objects are all up to date in terms of compliance data. Some actions cannot be performed on a part until its compliance data is rolled up.

-
Reports Lists the reports you can run for the selected parts. Analyzing Compliance
ExportUsed to report compliance of selected enterprise parts to a customer.

IMDS Actions

The IMDS actions only show when the ELV Data Management option is used. You must have the Leader or Senior Compliance Engineer access role to execute these actions.

Action Description
Clear for InsertClears the IMDS IDs of the selected parts so that the next time it is uploaded to IMDS a new Component or SemiComponent is inserted (with new IMDS Module ID, IMDS Version, and IMDS Node ID) instead of referencing or updating the existing Component or SemiComponent. The IMDS Cleared Status of the selected parts is set to "Clear for Insert."
Clear for UpdateClears the IMDS IDs of the selected parts so that the next time it is uploaded to IMDS, the existing Component or SemiComponent for the part in IMDS is updated instead of referenced. The IMDS Cleared Status of the selected parts is set to "Clear for Update". The existing IMDS IDs are retained and used in the upload to identify the Component or SemiComponent in IMDS that is to be updated.

The next time the part is uploaded to IMDS, a new Component or SemiComponent will be created in IMDS with the same IMDS Module ID as the original Component or SemiComponent, but with a new IMDS Version and IMDS Node ID.

Reset Clear for Update/InsertUndoes a previous "Clear for Update" or "Clear for Insert" action on the selected parts and sets the "IMDS Cleared Status" attribute of these materials to blank.
