Creating a Conformal Cooling Circuit

You can proceed as described below to create a Conformal Cooling Circuit.

See About Cooling Circuits and Runners for more information about input and other information.

Before you begin: Start creating a Cooling Circuit as explained in Creating a Cooling Circuit.

  1. Pick a Cooling Channel near an extremity or a corner.
    1. Select Conformal Cooling Radius Edition in context toolbar.
    2. Drag the ruler to modify the corner radius.
  2. To create a Conformal Cooling Circuit near the Cavity Surface by projecting a sketch on an offset surface, proceed as follows.
  3. In Generative Shape Design, create a rough offset of the Cavity Surface.

The offset corresponds to the distance required to avoid collisions between the Conformal Cooling Circuit and the Cavity Surface.

  4. Create a planar sketch with the shape of the Conformal Cooling Circuit.
  5. Project the sketch orthogonally onto the rough offset.
The sketch follows the shape of the rough offset.
  6. Back in Mold Tooling Design, use the projected sketch as input for Conformal Cooling Circuit.
