Authoring Section: Secondary Area

The secondary area of the Authoring section provides commands for managing precedence constraints, capable resources, requirements, product assignments, attributes, alternates, issues, and the sheet editor.

Manage Installation Inputs
Manages Installation inputs.
Multiple inputs for an Installation can be managed through this panel.

New inputs can be assigned, and existing inputs for an Installation can be removed.

Create Precedence Constraint
Creates a precedence constraint between two items.
A precedence constraint connects two sibling items.

The first item must be completed before the second one can start.

Manage Capable Resources
Manages capable resources related to the selected item.
The Manage Capable Resources panel lets you visualize, add, and remove resources related to the item.

You can also visualize, add, and remove documents associated with resources.

Browse Requirements
Browses existing requirements.
The Requirement Browser lets you manage:
  • the specification link between an item or operation and a set of requirements
  • the requirements assignments.

Assign Product to Item
Assigns a product to a selected item.
An Item-Product scope must be defined before any assignments can be done.

Unassign Product from Item
Unassigns a product from an item.
Select the product to be unassigned in the Manufactured Item Editor or in Smart Zoom.

Show Assigned Items Only
Shows in the work area only those objects that are assigned to an item, and hides others.
Select the item whose assigned objects are to be shown.

Sheet Editor
Starts the Sheet Editor.
The Sheet Editor lets you view and edit the properties of multiple objects in a spreadsheet view.

Attributes
Allows browsing and modifying object attributes.
Select an object to browse or modify its attributes.


Manage Alternates and Substitutes
Lets you author and navigate alternates of items.
An alternate is a relationship that links two item references.

An item reference:

  • can be defined as an alternate for one or more item references
  • defined as alternate can have a complete structure.

Manage Origins
Assigns or removes origin links on items, systems, operations, or resources.
An origin link:
  • Is set between objects of the same type.
  • Lets you determine from which object is the origin of the selected one.

Manage Manufacturing Responsibilities
Manages Manufacturing Responsibilities.
Manage links between an item, system, or operation reference and a manufacturing responsibility.

Load Resulting Product
Loads the resulting product of items.
Select one or more items to load the resulting product.
See Managing a Resulting Product.


Unload Evolved Instance
Unloads and removes permanently selected evolved instances of items, workplans, systems, operations or resources.
See Unload Evolved Instances of Objects.
Manage Resulting Product
Starts the Manage Resulting Product panel.
Open your manufacturing assembly and product structures, and select one or several manufactured items.
See Managing a Resulting Product.


Issue Management
Lets you create and assign issues, and view existing ones directly from the application.
Select an object from the tree or from the 3D view.

Enterprise Item Number on Items
Defines the Enterprise Item Number on items
Select an item to define the Enterprise Item Number.
