Revising a Chapter

You can revise a chapter that is in work, frozen, or released, but needs to updated or changed in a controlled way.

Required responsibilities:

  • Baseline: Leader (when the object is in the Frozen state) or Author

Before you begin: Open the chapter that you want to revise. See Opening a Chapter.

Revisions Page
  1. In the navigation pane, select Revisions.
    The Revisions page for the chapter opens.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Create Revision.

A new revision of the chapter is created in the "Private" state. The Revision column updates to indicate that the current chapter now has a higher revision available. The new chapter revision has all of the same relationships to its parent and child objects that the previous revision had. After you have created the first revision of a comment, the Replace By New Revision and Replace By Last Revision commands are available from the Actions menu.
