Hyperelastic-Viscoelastic Material Calibration of Butyl Rubber

This example guides you through using test data and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to calibrate a hyperelastic-viscoelastic material's response.

If you are new to the Material Calibration app, consider starting with the other Material Calibration example instead. For more information, see Elastic and Plastic Material Calibration of Aluminum.

You will learn how to:

  • Load multiple sets of material test data.
  • Define the material model that you want to calibrate.
  • Adjust the initial values of the material parameters so that the response curves match the test data more closely.
  • Apply more weight to the test data sets whose data you want to have a greater influence over the calibrated response.
  • Select an optimization algorithm for running the calibration, and adjust its complexity.
  • Run a calibration, and assess how closely the calibration curve matches the test data points.
  • Export the material parameters to a material definition in the database for use in simulations on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
