Right-click menus in Windows Explorer provide access to Connector for SOLIDWORKS commands.

3DEXPERIENCE Shortcut Menu

In the navigation pane folder tree, right-click 3DEXPERIENCE to access the 3DEXPERIENCE shortcut menu.

Note: You must be logged into the database to clear the local cache, or view database properties. before login, the following options are available:
  1. Login: Allows you to login to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  2. Work Offline: Lets you work offline on files in your local cache when you are not connected to the database.

Clear Local CacheRemoves all locally cached files that are not checked out from the selected folder and all subfolders.

PropertiesReports the properties of the selected file database view or folder.

File and Folder Shortcut Menu

In the file view, right-click a file or folder to access the shortcut menu.

The commands that are described are those that are unique to Connector for SOLIDWORKS.

Check OutChecks out the file for editing.

Check InChecks the selected file into the vault.

Get Latest IterationCopies the latest iteration of the file from the database to your local cache.

Undo Check Out

Cancels a checkout without saving changes.

PromotePromotes a checked out file from one lifecycle state to the next.

Properties

Displays properties of selected file or folder.

File View Shortcut Menu

In the file view background, right-click in the blank area outside any file name or icon to access the file view shortcut menu.

View

Sets the view option for files and folders.

Sort By

Lets you specify the column used to sort the files.

You can also change the sort order by clicking on a column.

Refresh

Refreshes the Windows Explorer view (F5).

Paste

Pastes copied files or folders to the current folder.

The copied files are checked out to you and are not available to other users until you check them in.

Paste Shared

Pastes links to copied files or folders into the current folder.

The location of the files in the database continues to be the folder from which you copied them.

When you check out and edit linked files, the changes are made to the files in the database and any other linked instances.

New

Lets you create a folder under the current folder.

Properties

Opens the Properties dialog box for the current folder.

View

Preview PlacementDetermines where the view and search tabs are placed. Options are:
  • To the Right
  • At the Bottom
Large iconsDisplays a thumbnail of the file above the file name.
Medium iconsDisplays the file type icon (for example, for an assembly) above the file name.
Small iconsDisplays a small file type icon next to the file name.
ListDisplays the files in a list.
DetailsDisplays the complete details on the file (for example, Checked Out By, Iteration, and so forth).
TileDisplays laterally the file names with the file type icon.

Sort By

Sorts are made alphabetically. To reverse the sort order, click the sort order again.

Tip: To see the effect of a Sort By selection, first click View > Details

By NameSorts by file name.
By OwnerSorts by Checked Out By name.
By SizeSorts by file size (Size).
By StateSorts by State.
By ModifiedSorts by Date Modified
By Check Out PathSorts by Checked Out In.
