App Options Panel

The App Options panel of Work Instructions provides commands that control aspects of work instructions planning.

To access the App Options panel, from the Tools section of the action bar, select App Options .

Work Instructions

The persistence of options in Work Instructions App Options is decided on a case by case basis. This is depending on the impact they could have on your data.

  • Some persist, PPR Panel Visibility, Orientation Viewer.
  • Some do not persist, Clash, Mfg Context, Auto Create 3D Line.
The default option setting is the current behavior, example, Mfg Context Items are not pickable / selectable. The option can be changed by selecting the Enable Selection of Context, ON setting from the list window.

Your selection maintains across the current 3DEXPERIENCE session. Launching a new 3DEXPERIENCE session, the settings reset to the default, OFF.

Flyout for Clash Detection

Clash Detection OFF
Enables you to detect clashes or turn off clash detection.

Clash Detection On
Activates automatic clash detection.

Flyout for Item and Resource Panel

Show Item & Resource panel
Shows the panel when it is hidden.

Flyout for Selection of Context

When updating the option value (selected to Enable selection or Disable selection) in App Options, it stores in the CATPreferences. Launching a future 3DEXPERIENCE the option is selected according to the latest valuation (Enable or Disable) defined in the CATPreferences.

Disable Selection of Context
Mfg Context Items are not pickable / selectable.
Enable Selection of Context
Enables you to select items in a manufacturing context for a view when they are activated.
You can create dressup on context items or overload color, transparency, position, or visibility on context items.
You can select items from either the 3D area or the Mfg Item and Resource panel.
Note: Usage of this functionality may result in the creation of -- potentially large number of -- links to Context Mfg Items.
  • These Context Mfg Items may or may not be loaded in subsequent sessions. In some cases, because session building workflow and or limitations, it is impossible to reload the same set of context objects in subsequent sessions.
  • The large(r) the number of links to different Mfg Items also impacts the change management workflow (Update Views command in the Instruction Tools section of the action bar).
Note: Selection is maintained across the current 3DEXPERIENCE session. When launching a new 3DEXPERIENCE session, the settings are reset to the default - Selectability (OFF).

Flyout for Auto Create 3D Line on Object Move

Auto Create 3D Line on Object Move (OFF)
Turns OFF the automatic creation of 3D Line when a Item or Resource is moved in a View.

Auto Create 3D Line on Object Move (ON)
Turns ON the automatic creation of 3D Line when a Item or Resource is moved in a View.

Auto Create 3D Line On Object Move (ON)
Automatically creates a line representing a move when you move an item or a resource in a view. This option creates a line when you move an object using the Robot handle, Explode, Snap, or Manipulate.

Flyout for Display Graphic Orientation Viewer

Display Graphic Orientation Viewer (OFF)
Shuts off the display of the graphic orientation viewer of a manufactured product in a view.

Turns on the display of the graphic orientation viewer of a manufactured product in a view.
