Managing Cable Routes

You can use the Routing Assistant to define the path of your cable routes.

The Routing Assistant provides the same routing commands as the Conductor Routing Assistant. For detailed information about the routing commands shared in the two assistants, see Working with the Conductor Routing Assistant.

You can define a priorization when routing cables. For more information, see About Conductor or Cable Routing Prioritization.

  1. From the Cable section of the action bar, click Routing Assistant .
  2. In the tree, select an electrical physical system.
The Routing Assistant panel appears. Cable routes are listed.
  3. In the panel, select the Routing mode: .
  4. Select one or several Cable Route objects, and then select one of the following routing commands:
    Command Description
Route automatically Routes the cable(s) through the shortest path inside your electrical network following your business logics, compatibility tables and constraints. If a route is already defined, it is replaced by the new route.

For additonal information, see Route Selected Conductors Automatically

Complete route automatically Routes the cable(s) through the shortest path inside your electrical network taking into consideration the route portions already defined. Existing route portions are considered as inclusion constraints.

This command also follows your business logics, compatibility tables and constraints.

For additonal information, see Complete Partial Route.

Route manually Allows you to select manually the path portions to be added to the cable route. You can select a branch or a segment to add or remove it from the route. A branch or segment is not allowed for selection if it is not compatible with your compatibility table.

For additonal information, see Route Selected Conductors Manually.

Copy route Allows you to select a cable route and copy it to another route.

For additonal information, see Copy Conductor Route.

Clear route Allows you to delete the path of an existing cable route.

For additonal information, see Clear Route.

Note: If a routing prioritization is active, the rules apply independently for each child route of the cable. Each child route complies with prioritization rule but the entire path of cable may not be in compliance with prioritization rules.

After defining your cable routes, you can:

  • Close the panel to exit the command.
  • Define a validation state for your cable routes using the validation commands.
