Products Page

The Products page lists the Services Products owned by you or assigned to you. The page lists the products, but does not show the relationship between those products, such as which products are derived, revised, or branched from other products.

To work with other types of products or use the Product Line Management tools to work with Services Products, see Model Versions Page.

Required license role: Services Product Manager, Services Product Developer, Services Product Contributor, Services Product Business Metrics, Review and Approve

Required access roles:Author, Leader, Reader

To access this page:

  1. List the app categories for Services Management for your role.
  2. In the navigation pane, click My View.
  3. Click the Products tab.

Columns

Column Name Description
Marketing Name The marketing name of the product. Click to open the product.
Name Name of the product.
(Image) Shows the primary image for the product, if defined. Click to open the Images page, where you can view all images for the product. See Images Page.
Type Shows the type of product.
Description
Product Classification

A classification of the product:

Option Description
Financial Product A marketing entity that can include other services and products (a bundle).
Financial Service A service performed for a customer, typically sold with other services within a product.
Financial Component Technical part composing services.
Financial Instrument Technical part composing services.

State

Shows up to 3 lines for the previous, current, and next lifecycle states. The current state is highlighted, and you can click it to open the Lifecycle page. If you only see 2 lines, the item is in its first or last state. Hover over the state to view the available actions:

Action Description
Promote the item to the next state.
Demote the item to its previous state.
Promote the item to its final state.
Note: Hover actions are not available on mobile devices.

Owner The person responsible for the product.
Click to open the Properties page for the product in a new browser window.
(Derivation Cue) Shows for derivations; this column is blank for revisions and the root product.

You only see this column if derivation mode is enabled.

(Latest Cue) Shows for the latest revision in each revision chain (each derived product can have its own revision chain).

Shows for the latest revision on a revision chain if the product in the Release state. If both of these conditions exist, only this cue shows in the column.

You only see this column if derivation mode is enabled.

Derivation Type You only see this section if Derivation mode is enabled.

Possible Values Description
Revision This product was revised from its parent.
Derivation This product was derived from its parent; a product can have as many derivations as needed.

Derived From The parent of this product. If the value is Root, then this is the main product for a model.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

You must have a Services Product Manager or Services Product Developer license role to perform these actions.

Create Product Creates a new Services Product. Creating Services Products
Clone Product Clones the selected Services Product. Cloning Services Products
Add to Portfolio Adds the selected products to an existing portfolio. Predefined Queries
Copy Selected Copies the structure and rules of the selected product to another product. Product Line Management User's Guide: Copying a Model Version
Delete Deletes the selected product. Click OK to confirm. You can only delete a product if it is in the Preliminary state and does not have any revisions or derivations. -

Reports for Products

Click on the toolbar to access the Reports menu.
