Activating a Study

You can activate a study when you are ready to begin performing experiments. This generates a BIOVIA Foundation Hub Task Plan, Sample definitions, and Tasks for all tests to perform at the specified time points for the required storage conditions. Activation also creates Tasks for the manufacture of any material lots requested.

Before you begin: You can only activate a study in the Approved or Inactive lifecycle states. You can reactivate a Completed or Finalized study. For more information, see Approving a Study and Completing a Study.

You can track the created Tasks. For more information, see Monitoring a Study.

The Task Plan created for the study is available in Foundation Hub for the member who activated the study. The study's name populates the Task Plan's name and the Task Plan details include the study's identifier. For more information about the Task Plan, see Introductory Concepts.

You can schedule, assign, record results, and complete the Tasks in Foundation Hub.

When you activate a study, this automatically calculates the Scheduled Date of each task according to the selected time points and the start date of the study. This also automatically specifies the Due Date of each task as 30 days after the Scheduled Date.
