Part Properties

The Properties page displays the details of a part.

To access this page:

  • Open a part, click the Properties tab.

Columns

If a template is applied to a part, the properties page that appears is based on the template that is applied to it. For more information, see Template Properties.

If a template is not applied to a part, the properties page that appears is the properties page from Engineering BOM Management. For more information, see Part Properties.

Notes:
  • Additional attributes required for formulation are available as part of the dynamic attribute group Chemical Raw Material. This attribute group can be associated to a library or a part family. If any parts are classified with the library or the part family associated to this dynamic attribute group, the attributes are added from this group to the part.
  • Attributes from Chemical Raw Material are added to a part if a template with attributes from this interface is applied on the part to generate specification reports.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

The below table describes the toolbar commands that appear on the properties page for parts. For more information, see Part Properties.

Actions/Toolbar Commands Description
Edit

Edits a part.

If a template is applied to a part, the spec view content is editable.

If a template is not applied to a part, the Engineering BOM Management part properties page appears for editing.

Create New Revision Creates a new revision. For more information, see Revising Part.
Duplicating Part Copies the part. For more information, see Duplicating a Part.
Set to Production Changes the phase of the part. For more information, see Set to Production.
Set Change Required The change control field is set to value Enabled; Any Change.
Note: This option appears only when a part is created without Work Under Change.
Unset Change Required The change control is disabled.
Note: This option appears only when a part is created without Work Under Change.
Go to Phase Shows the Go To Phase dialog box where you can change the stage of the product data part.

This option appears when the associated policy has release phase information and the part is in the Complete or Release state and the user has Revise access.

Note: Go to Phase is available only for the subtypes of product data parts.

Controlled Print Generates a controlled print for the product data only if it is in Release or Complete state.

Note: This command appears if you have the role of a Document Center Administrator.
Periodic Review Displays the periodic review information. It is enabled for all the phases of parts. For more information, see Editing Periodic Review Details.
Apply Template Applies a template to a part.

This option appears if the logged in user has access to modify a part and has the Product Data Originator role.

Remove Applied Template Removes a template from a part.

This option appears if the logged in user has access to modify a part and has the Product Data Originator role.
