Add Existing	Search for and add a part that currently exists in the database to the BOM. Engineering Part. The Search page opens with a default Type of Part. If you select a part in the BOM before you click Add Existing, the part is added as a child part for that part.	About Searches
Add New	Create a part to add to the BOM.	Creating a Part
Add Next	Search for and add a part that currently exists in the database to the BOM. The part is added at the same level as the selected part in the BOM structure and find numbers are recalculated..	About Searches
Insert New	To create and add a manufacturing part. If you select a part in the BOM before you click Insert New, the part is added as a child part for that part. If the parent part is in the Preliminary state, the part will be connected to the parent without any context change required. If the parent part is in the Released state, a context change is required.	Creating a Manufacturing Part.
Insert Existing	Search for and add a part that currently exists in the database to the BOM. Click the cell in the Name column and type a name in the text field, then click Lookup Entries from the page toolbar to perform a part search based on the criteria entered. Use inline edit to change part details. If you select a part in the BOM before you click Insert Existing, the part is added as a child part for that part. If the parent part is in the Preliminary state, the part will be connected to the parent without any context change required. If the parent part is in the Released state, a context change is required.	About Searches
Copy From / Copy To	Copy from or copy to the selected part on the BOM structure.	Copying an Unconfigured BOM
Replace with Existing	Search for a part that currently exists in the database to replace a part in the BOM. If the part to replace the existing part in the BOM does not have a BOM structure, select one of the following: Replace with No BOM. Replaces the part and BOM structure with the new part. Replace with BOM of Existing Part. Replaces the part with the new part and copies the BOM structure of the existing part to the new part.	Editing Part Bill of Materials
Replace with New	Create a part to replace a selected part in the BOM. If the part to replace the existing part in the BOM does not have a BOM structure, select one of the following: Replace with No BOM. Replaces the part and BOM structure with the new part. Replace with BOM of Existing Part. Replaces the part with the new part and copies the BOM structure of the existing part to the new part.	Creating a Part
Resequence	Resequence top-level parts in the selected assembly. This command is available only for development parts in a state before the Complete state and production parts in the Preliminary state.	–
Change Position	Change the position of child parts under one parent part. This command is available only for development parts in a state before the Complete state and production parts in the Preliminary state.	–

Add Existing	Adds a part to the BOM. Select Substitute Part from the menu to add the part as a substitute part. Select Alternate Part from the menu to add the part as an alternate part. The Search page opens. Note: When adding a substitute or alternate part, you can add only the latest version of the part.	About Searches
Remove	To remove checked objects from the BOM. This disconnects the objects from the parent part, but does not delete the objects from the database. Note: When removing a substitute or alternate part, you can add only the latest version of the part.	–

From the page toolbar, click any of the following:


Command	Description
Save	Click to update all changes made in the BOM. This command is available for development parts in any state and production parts in the Preliminary state.
Markup	Click to save all changes made in the BOM as a BOM markup. See Creating a BOM Markup.
Undo	Click to undo all changes to selected items. Click Ok to confirm.
