What's New

This page describes recent changes in Collaborative Spaces Control Center.

This page discusses:

R2022x FD01 (FP.2205)

Managing Members in All Collaborative Spaces

An administrator can manage members of all collaborative spaces from the 3DSpace Control Center.
Benefits: You do not need to be an owner to manage members of all collaborative spaces.

Customizing Effectivity Display

Administrators can now use the Configuration Management section of the Collaborative Spaces Control Center to manage the XSL file that customizes effectivity display.
You can no longer use the Configured Engineering option under App Preferences or the Configuration tab under Legacy Preferences to customize effectivity display.
Benefits: You can now easily control effectivity display using the Collaborative Spaces Control Center.
For more information, see Configuring Effectivity

Improving Product Structure Expansion Performance: Instantiated Configuration

You can clear the new Enable Product Configuration Instantiation check box in the Collaborative Spaces Control Center to improve the performance of product structure expansion. This check box is selected by default.
Clearing the new Enable Product Configuration Instantiation check box improves performance because unused product instantiation functionality is now ignored when the product’s structure is expanded. Clearing the check box removes the following commands that allow you to add instantiated products to a structure, which must be considered during structure expansion:
  • Insert Product Configuration and Replace by Existing Configuration commands in native apps.
  • Add Existing Product Configuration command in the Engineering Release app.
Benefits: If you do not use use instantiated product configuration capabilities, you can improve product structure expansion performance by clearing the Enable Product Configuration Instantiation check box.
For more information, see Configuring Effectivity

Improving Configuration Filter Performance: Composition Matrix

You can clear the new Enable Composition Matrix check box in the Collaborative Spaces Control Center to improve the performance of configuration filters. This check box is selected by default.
Clearing the new Enable Composition Matrix check box improves configuration filter performance by removing functionality that is used during configuration filtering. It does so by:
  • Removing all authoring commands from the Master Composition tab of the model's Logical Features category in Variant Management and Variant Analysis and Reuse.
  • Removing the View Design Effectivity Matrix command from the Reports menu in the model's Model Versions category in Variant Management and Variant Analysis and Reuse.
  • Removing the Reports menu and its Manufacturing Plan Matrix command from the Derivations tab in the model's Manufacturing Plans category in Variant Management and Variant Analysis and Reuse.
  • Removing the Edit Design Effectivity command from the Actions menu in the model version's Properties tab in Variant Management and Variant Analysis and Reuse.
  • Removing the Manufacturing Plan Matrix command from the Actions menu and the Edit Manufacturing Plan Breakdown command from the Reports menu in the Composition tab of the model version's Manufacturing Plans category in Variant Management and Variant Analysis and Reuse.
  • Removing the Manufacturing Plans Breakdown category from manufacturing plans in Variant Management and Variant Analysis and Reuse.
Benefits: If you do not use these commands, you can improve the performance of configuration filters by clearing the Enable Composition Matrix check box.

Searching and Filtering Members

An administrator can search through a list of several members who have been added to a collaborative space to find a specific member and edit their role.
You can search for members by first name, last name, and full name. You can filter the member list by their role in a collaborative space.
Benefits: It is now quicker and more precise to search for members in a collaborative space who have several credentials.

Configuring Project Management

You can configure triggers and the demotion of completed tasks for Project Management.
Benefits: This helps you configure options for Project Management.
For more information, see Configuring Project Management

Configuring RAMS and APQP Core Tools

You can now configure the patterns used to change the labels of PLM objects in trees and tables. You can also configure a URL for external modules provided by partners.
Benefits: Object labels can now follow the naming of your company. External partner modules can now be called.
For more information, see Configuring RAMS and APQP Core Tools

Removing Change Required from Objects

You can now configure the minimum role required to remove change control from an object to be based on access privileges.
Benefits: When this option is selected, any user with access privileges to demote or modify the object can remove Change Required from a change controlled object.
For more information, see Configuring Change Management

Allowing Maturity Change to Released if Content is the Latest Revision

You can use the new access rule Allow change maturity to Released if used content is the latest released revision along with the maturity transition control Reject if any of the Governed Children is not on Target State.
You can use them together to allow maturity transition to the Released state only of the content is the latest released revision.
Benefits: This will allow maturity transition to the Released state only of the content is the latest released revision.
For more information, see Configuring Access Rules

Automatically Freeze Objects Impacted by a Change Action

You can now configure the option to automatically promote the objects impacted by a change action to the Frozen state when the change action is promoted to the In Approval state.
Benefits: In the context of a single designer, this option helps to reduce the number of interactions to promote a change action to the In Approval state.
For more information, see Configuring Change Management

Lifecycle Transition Control Rule

You can now use the new lifecycle transition control rule Reject if any of the Logical implemented entities is not on target state to block the promotion of engineering definition objects if any implemented logical references are not in the target state.
Benefits: This rule helps to ensure that physical products are associated with stable versions of logical references.
For more information, see Add Transition Controls Typical Lifecycle Changes

R2022x GA

Configuring Revisions

You can now select the Primary and Secondary revision format for all Engineering Definition, Engineering Evaluation, and Engineering Resource object types.
This format activates a secondary ID, in the # format, that is incremented every time you create a revision of a non-Released object. The primary ID is incremented every time you create a revision of a Released object. The Primary and Secondary for 3DEXPERIENCE Content with SOLIDWORKS Master revision format is still available if it was selected before upgrading to 3DEXPERIENCE 2022x.

By default, on new installations, the Primary revision format is selected, and the minor revision ID is disabled. On upgraded installations, the selected options are equivalent to those you specified on the server.

Benefits: The Primary and Secondary revision format enables you to differentiate major changes (identified by the primary ID) from design iterations (identified by the secondary ID). The secondary revision ID is no longer limited to 3DEXPERIENCE content with SOLIDWORKS master.
For more information, see Configuring Lifecycle and Collaboration Commands About Revision Formats

Configuring E-Signature

You can now configure the e-signature authentication requirement for approval tasks.
You can opt to either enforce e-signature authentication for all approval tasks, remove e-signature authentication requirement for all approval tasks, or let approval tasks use the e-signature authentication option declared in the route template.
Benefits: You now have more options to use e-signature.
For more information, see Configuring E-Signature

Configuring Maturity States

You can now configure the maturity states and transitions for the Document Release policy.
You are now able to see 'Document' in the filter for object type in the add control rule panel. If the document is under change control, you must use the Change Action to change the maturity state of the document.
Benefits: All document types and subtypes are now supported.
For more information, see Configuring Maturity Graphs (Lifecycles)

Configuring Collaboration for Microsoft

You can now configure the maturity states and transitions for the Document Release policy.
You are now able to see 'Document' in the filter for object type in the add control rule panel. If the document is under change control, you must use the Change Action to change the maturity state of the document.
Benefits: All document types and subtypes are now supported.
For more information, see Configuring Collaboration for Microsoft
