Summarize a Formula

When a formula is open in the work area,
click Summarize Formula
.
The formula grid shows the summary view of the formula. The Summary
Options panel opens to the right of the formula grid.

Customize the summary view by selecting options in the Summary
Options:
Option | Description |

Sort Ingredients |
The main criterion by which ingredients are sorted. Choose a sort criterion,
and select Ascending or Descending. |
Put |
Further options for sorting. You can select Active Ingredients
First, Preservatives First, and Colorants Last. |
Combine By |
Options for combining ingredients that share characteristics in the summary —
for example, CAS Number or Chemical
Name. Select criteria from one or both of the lists. If you select
criteria in both lists, choose the And or the
Or operator to determine how the search is
performed. |
Expand |
Options for expanding or hiding information in the summary:
- Not Included Phases: If selected, premix phases are
excluded from the summary. Links to premixes phases are expanded to show
individual ingredients.
- Compositions: If selected, composite ingredients are
replaced in the grid by their constituent substances, except for trace
contaminants.
- Combine All Phases: If selected, phase headers are
hidden, and phase ingredient groupings are ignored.
- Trace Contaminants: If selected, composite
ingredients are replaced in the grid by their constituent substances,
including trace contaminants.

(Optional). To close the Summary Options panel, click
Open/Close Dock
at the top of the panel.
Unsummarize a Formula
When a formula is summarized, click Unsummarize Formula
 .
The formula grid switches to the default view.
