Instances List

The Instances page lists the instances and its details. You can view its properties and perform actions from the Instances page.

If an instance is active, the active instance row is highlighted.

The active instance is highlighted only for SolidWorks integration and only one active instance is displayed.

Integrations other than SolidWorks do not maintain information about the active instance, so for these integrations, the active instance row is not highlighted with a different color.

To access this page:

  1. Search for the object and open its Properties page. See CAD Portal View.
  2. Click the Instances tab.

Columns

Column Description

Name

The name of the design file.
TitleTitle of the instance.

Alerts

If any alerts are associated with the object, the alert icon shows in the column.

Rev

The revision stream where this Iteration is checked in.

Description

The description defined for the design.

State

The current lifecycle state for the design.
Actions

The actions you can perform on the object:

  • - View and select subscriptions for a document. See Common Components User's Guide.
  • - To download the structure to your local disk, see Downloading a Structure.
  • - To open a file in the respective integration application from the web browser. The availability of this command depends on the mapping done in the integration app. For certain application other than X-CAD Design, checkout icon will be visible even if the mapping is not present, but will display an error message.
  • - The file is unlocked. Click to lock.
  • - The file is locked. Click to unlock.
  • - Click to view the file in AutoVue.

Type

The object type as defined in the X-CAD Design Management system.

Actions

Action Description
Promote Promote the selected object to the next state in the object's lifecycle. See Promoting Objects
Demote Demote the selected object to the previous state in the object's lifecycle. See Demoting an object.
EBOMSync Create an Engineering BOM (EBOM) based on the selected CAD object. See Creating an EBOM from CAD Objects.
RenameRename the CAD model. See Renaming CAD Objects.
SaveAsSave a CAD object with a different name. See Saving CAD Objects with a Different Name.
PurgePermanently delete the CAD objects from the database. See Purging.
BaselineLabel a particular set of objects. See Baselining.
Delete SelectedDelete the selected objects, if you have delete permission. See Deleting CAD Objects.
LockLock an unlocked object. See Locking and Unlocking CAD Objects.
