User Interface

The Logical Product Definition app has a global view that is called as cockpit. It consists of the following sections.

  • Identity Card (ID Card)
  • Grid View

This page discusses:

ID Card

The ID card displays details of an active logical reference.

Fields

The following fields are shown in the ID card.

Field Description
Config. Context The model and revision associated with the logical reference
Owner The logical reference owner. The person who created the logical reference unless it has been transferred.
Maturity State The lifecycle state of the logical reference.
Creation Date The date on which the logical reference was created.
Modification Date The date on which the logical reference was last modified.
Architecture Number The Architecture number (if any) assigned to the logical reference.
Description The description defined on the logical reference.
Information Displays the properties of the root logical reference.
Expand/Collapse Expands or collapses the ID card.
Note: By default, it is in collapsed mode. To view the ID card details, expand it.

Actions

The following actions are shown in the ID card menu.

Action Description
Set Architecture Number Assigns an architecture number to the logical reference. For more information, see Managing Architecture Number.
Edit Configuration Context Adds or removes a model as a configuration context. For more information, see Managing Model Versions.
Revision Explorer Allows you to view the existing revisions of the logical reference and create new revisions. For more information, see Revising a Logical Reference.
Duplicate Create a duplicate of the logical reference.
Compare Compares the logical reference with another revision of the same logical reference or with another logical reference. For more information , see Comparing Logical References.
Maturity Lets you change the maturity state of the logical reference. For more information, see Managing Maturity.
Lock Locks the selected objects so that other users cannot work on them. For more information, see Locking Logical Reference.
Unlock Unlocks the selected objects that were previously locked so that other users can work on them. For more information, see Locking Logical Reference.
Move To Lets you change the ownership, collaborative space, and the organization of the logical reference.
Relations Shows the objects related to the logical references. For more information, see Viewing Relations
Export You can perform one of the following actions.

Columns

A grid view displays the contents of a logical reference. You can choose any of the following grid views.

  • Structured View
  • Flattened View
  • Flattened View, only Key Architecture Components
The following columns are displayed in the grid view.

Column Name Description
Title The title of the logical reference. You can expand the structure of the logical references from this column.
Convergence The cue status of the logical reference.
Revision The revision number of the logical reference. For more information see, Revising a Logical Reference
Is Last Revision Shows if the displayed revision is the latest revision.
Instance Title The instance title of the logical reference.
Maturity State The lifecycle state of the logical reference. For more information see, Managing Maturity.
Owner The name of the logical reference owner. For more information see, Transferring a Logical Reference.
Modification Date The date on which the logical reference was last modified.
Description The description defined on the logical reference.
Type Displays the type of corresponding logical reference.
Name Displays the external ID of the logical reference.
Creation Date The date on which the logical reference was created.
Architecture Number The architecture number assigned to the logical reference. For more information see, Managing Architecture Number
Assigned Spaces The Design Space Reference assigned to the logical references as multivaluated attribute. For more information see, Assigning a Space
Effectivity The effectivity value set to Yes or No.
Variant/Option Displays the variant effectivity.
Current Evolution Displays the current evolution.
Projected Evolution Displays the projected evolution.

Actions

The following actions are shown in the home page toolbar.

Action Description
Add Creates new or adds existing logical reference.
Note: Add option is enabled only in structured view.
Advanced Filters Applies filters to the logical references. For more information see, Applying Filters.
Convergence State Displays the cues statuses of the logical references. For more information see, Using Convergence States.
Attribute Management Allows you to select the attributes and retrieve it from the index and visualize them in the data grid view.

Component View Allows you to select one of the following views.
  • Structured-Displays the child logical references of the logical reference displayed in the ID card.
  • Flattened (n levels)- Displays all logical references up to n levels under the root as a single list.
  • Flattened (n levels), only Key Architecture Component- Displays only logical references with defined architecture numbers as a single list up to n levels. For more information see, Data Grid View.

Information Panel

You can view and modify the attributes of a logical reference from the information panel. The information panel includes the tabs described below.

Tab Description
Properties Lists basic information about the logical reference. For more information, see Editing Attributes of a Logical Reference.
Instance Displays information about the selected instance. Select a child logical reference instance to view this tab. This tab appears only when you select a child logical reference. For more information, see Editing Attributes of a Logical Reference.
Effectivity Displays the proposed effectivity applied. For more information see, Managing Effectivity.
Change Displays the change required status. For more information see, Applying Work Under.
