Document Enhancements

A comment is no longer required for updating documents. A confirmation message lets you know if the selected file is different from the existing one.
Benefits: Validating updates is easier.

Features to Manage Documents

Documents can now be uploaded with subtypes.
If subtypes are created, you can:
  • Choose the file to upload.
  • Select the subtype.
  • Edit the document attributes during the upload process.
Note: You can upload documents with subtypes as a specification or an attachment.
Benefits: You have more detailed information about documents to either create or attach.

Expand/Collapse Icons

Expand and Collapse icons have been added and a thumbnail displays when the header is expanded.
Benefits: Efficient navigation in the app.

Identity Card in the Information Panel

The identity card is now displayed with the document title, revision, owner, and modification date. Show and hide options have been added to the identity card.
Benefits: New features offer more efficient navigation.

Information Icon on the Toolbar

You can now open and close the information panel by clicking the Information icon on the toolbar. The Information icon displays in gray when the information panel is closed and shows blue when the information panel is opened.
Benefits: Updated icon and functionality make it easier to navigate.

New Commands Added to the Toolbar and Context Menu

Toolbar and context icon commands have been updated.
New icons on the toolbar:
  • Upload
  • Add to favorites/Remove from favorites.
  • Share is a new context menuicon.
Benefits: Provides efficient navigation in the app.

Information Icon Available in Preview Page Toolbar

The Information icon is available when a document is previewed from the Attachments or Specifications tab.

The Information icon helps you get details about a previewed document such as properties, relations, comments, sharing, and attachments.

Benefits: Preview lets you access detailed information about attachments and specifications.

Enhancements to the Welcome Panel and Added Commands

Updated icons and enhancements to creating documents
  • Expand/Collapse icons have changed from to .
  • When you create a new document, the blue background soon fades out after the document is created.
Benefits: These enhancements improve the user experience.

Sharing Documents

You can now share documents with the following permissions:
  • View
  • Read
  • Manage
  • Edit
Benefits: You can control access to your documents.

Preview Microsoft Office Documents

You can now preview a Microsoft Office document as a single file. You can preview both documents and images.
Benefits: More options to preview a document.

Document Preview

You can preview documents in the Preview Pane instead of waiting for All Documents to load.
Benefits: A preview makes it easier to view documents.

Configuring Maturity States

You can now use the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center to configure the maturity states on the Document Release policy.
Benefits: You can customize the maturity state names to conform to your business processes.

Copying and Pasting Attachments

You can now copy an attachment of a document, and paste it as an attachment or specification in another document.
Benefits: You can manage content more efficiently.

Updated Icons

In the Attachments tab for a document, icons have been updated for the Remove and Replace by Revision commands to match icons used in other 3DEXPERIENCE apps.
Benefits: New icons ensure consistency across apps.
