Procedure for Creating Space References

1. Choose your space structure:
   • Standard: A space structure consisting of space root, space system, space concept root, and space folder. See Standard Space Structure.
   • Simplified: A light space structure without space root, space folder, and space concept root. See Simplified Space Structure: Creating a Simplified Space Structure.
2. Create space cells using any of the following methods:
   • Create space cells using cutting elements. See Creating Space Cells Using Cutting Elements.
   • Create space cells using sketches. See Creating Space Cells Using Sketches.
   • Create space cells aligned along a curve. See Creating Space Cells Aligned Along a Curve.
3. Publish the space cells and generate space references.
   • Publishing space cells created using cutting elements. See Publishing Space Cells Created Using Cutting Elements.
   • Publishing space cells created using sketches. See Publishing Sketch Space Cells.
   • Publishing space cells aligned along a curve. See Publishing Space Cells Aligned Along a Curve.
4. Optional: In case there are any changes in the space manager, synchronize the space references with them. See Synchronizing Space References.

After generation of the space references, you can do the following to aid their applications:

• Specify their top and bottom faces. See Specifying the Top and Bottom Faces of Design Space References.
• Add extensions to them. See Adding Extensions to Space References.
• Calculate their floor area. See Calculating the Floor Area of Spaces.
• Generate their drawings. See Drawing Generation.
• Use the Space Usage to manage and use the spaces.
