Prepare Section

The Prepare section of the action bar provides commands for preparing and cleaning terrains.

Remove a Local Area
Deletes a local area on a discrete entity.
Select a cloud of points, a terrain mesh, or a discrete polyline to delete.
See Removing a Local Area.
Filter Point Cloud
Hides points from the point cloud to optimize the working context.
  • Use the Homogeneous option to hide the same amount of points on every area.
  • Use the Adaptive option to hide more points on planar areas.
See Filtering a Cloud.
Terrain Preparation
Verifies the quality of terrain meshes and solves any issues related to the mesh triangles or structure.
Run the cleaning process to fix or delete defects.
See Preparing Meshes.
Refine Terrain
Enriches a terrain by inserting survey points.
Select a terrain mesh and clouds of points to insert.
See Refining a Terrain.
Insert Break Lines
Adds discrete break lines on a terrain mesh.
To do so, select a polyline or several polyline elements made of the points measured on the site.
See Inserting Break Lines.
Morph Terrain
Deforms a mesh locally.
Select target points or curves to project onto the mesh to deform.
See Morphing Terrains.
Decimate
Reduces the number of triangles of a terrain mesh to save computation time and memory.
Enter values for the decimation parameters.
See Decimating Terrain Meshes.
Edit Polyline
Modifies the set of points of discrete polylines.
See Editing Polylines.
Translate
Translates an element along a direction.
See Flyout for Transforming Terrains.
Colorize by Height Map
Applies a color code to each point of the terrain according to its geometric height.
Select a terrain mesh, a cloud of points, or discrete polylines to color.
See Colorizing a Terrain.
Contour Map
Creates a topographic contour map on a terrain mesh or a surface.
Create contour maps to show valleys and hills. To do so, join points of equal elevation above a given level.
See Creating Contour Maps.
Create Image Mapping
Maps images of various formats on a terrain mesh or surface.
Import one or several images into a terrain. You can manage the quality, transparency, and overlapping of images.
See Creating an Image Mapping.
Terrain Topography Analysis
Displays ridges, valleys, slopes, watershed segmentation and water drop path on a terrain mesh.
See Analyzing Terrain Topography.

Flyout for Transforming Terrains

Translate*
Translates an element along a direction.
See Translating Geometry.
Rotate*
Rotates an element about an axis.
See Rotating Geometry.
Symmetry*
Creates a symmetrical element with respect to a reference element.
See Performing a Symmetry on Geometry.
Scaling*
Operates a scaling operation on a selected element.
See Transforming Geometry by Scaling
Affinity*
Transforms an element by affinity.
See Transforming Geometry by Affinity.
Axis to Axis*
Transforms an element from an axis system to another axis system.
See Transforming Elements from an Axis to Another.
* These commands are associative.
