Diagram Section

The Diagram section provides commands for display, alignment, distribution and resizing of instances. Connections can also be reorganized.

Icon Layer
Toggles between the icon layer and the diagram layer.

Grid
Displays or hides the grid.
Click the command to display or hide the grid. You can use the grid to position your objects.

Snapping
Activates or deactivates the grid snapping.
Move your object in the work area to automatically snap it to the grid.

Show Diagram Extent
Shows or hides the frame of the diagram extent.
Show the frame to be able to graphically resize the extent of the diagram.

Line
Creates a line or a broken line.

Rectangle
Creates a rectangle.

Ellipse
Creates an ellipse.

Polygon
Creates a polygon.

Text
Creates a text.

Picture
Adds a picture to the diagram or icon layer.

Modelica Graphics Properties
Shows/hides the Modelica Graphics Properties dialog box, to edit selected graphical primitives.

Smart Connection
Disables/Enables the creation of smart connections.

Direct Connection
Disables/Enables the creation of direct connections.

Show Connector Names
Shows or hides the connector names in the diagram.
To easily identify connectors, you can show the connector names in the diagram. The connector name label is shown right next to the connector icon, so you can still select the connector when creating a connection.

Note: The names of the root connectors are not displayed by this feature. In most cases, the root connector´s icon already displays the name.

Same Width

Reorganize Connections
Reorganizes the connections to enhance the 2D display of your model.
Avoids other components and tries to respect a minimum distance between parallel connections.

Auto Space

Filter Diagram
Filters components by name. Components that do not match the filter string are made semitransparent.

Export Current Layer
Exports the currently displayed layer as a picture file in .png or .svg format.

Flyout for Aligning Instances

Align Left
Aligns components to the left.
Select the components to be aligned to the left.

Align Right
Aligns components to the right.
Select the components to be aligned to the right.

Align Center
Aligns instances in the center.
Select the components to be vertically centered.

Align Top
Aligns components along the upper component.
Select the components to be aligned along with the upmost component.

Align Bottom
Aligns components along with the lower component.
Select the components to be aligned with the lower component.

Align Middle
Aligns components in the middle.

Distribute Horizontally
Creates horizontally an equivalent space between the instances.
Select the components to distribute horizontally the same distance between them.

Distribute Vertically
Creates vertically an equivalent space between the instances.
Select the components to distribute vertically the same distance between them.

Flyout for Resizing Instances

Same Width
Resizes the components to the same width.
The width of the first element of your selection is applied to the other selected components.

Same Height
Resizes the components to the same height.
The height of the first element of your selection is applied to the other selected components.

Auto Space
Spaces components.
Click the command to optimize the spacing between selected, or all, components in x and y direction.

Auto Align
