Layout Section

The Layout section provides commands for creating and editing content in a diagram view.

Port Mapping
Maps connection points and ports.
Select the connection point and double-click the port to be mapped in the list.

Edit Connection Point
Edits a connection point and a port.
Select the desired connection point and change its direction.

Create Polyline

Manage Thumbnails
Displays logical reference as a thumbnail showing its symbol representation in Catalog Browser.
In Catalog Browser, select a chapter or logical reference for which you want associate a thumbnail with and close the dialog box.

Apply Gap on Routes

Create Zone
See Flyout for Creating and Managing Zones.


Check Sheet Connector
Lists all the sheet connectors which are not paired.
In the Check Offsheets dialog box, select the Check all orphan offsheets in session option, and click a routable.

Print Custom Area
Prints an area of a diagram view.
In the Custom Print area, select a frame format, an orientation and click Update preview.

Create Symbol From Shape
Creates a symbol from one or several shapes and text.
Select one or several shapes and click Create Symbol From Shape. In the dialog box, click Select and select the component to be mapped with the symbol.

Arrange Stacked Symbols
Brings a text to the front when two texts are overlapping.

Table

Arrow
Creates arrows.

Insert Picture
Inserts a picture in a diagram view.

Distribute Horizontally

Create Polyline
Creates a polyline.
Click the diagram view to position all the points of your geometry.

Create Line
Creates a line.
Click the diagram view to position the first end of the line. Drag your pointer to draw the line and click.

Create Ellipse
Creates an ellipse.
Click the diagram view to position the ellipse center. Enlarge your geometry and click.

Create Circle
Creates a circle.
Click the diagram view to position the circle center. Enlarge your geometry and click.

Creates a rectangle.

Break Route
Breaks a route.
Click the route where you want to create the breaking point.

Merge Routes
Merges routes.
Select the two routes to merge them.

Manipulate Electrical Symbols
Modifies the position or the orientation of a symbol.
To change the position or the orientation of a symbol, move respectively the manipulation tool or its handles.

Duplicate View
Duplicates a diagram view with its content.
Select the view to be copied and select the sheet under which the duplicated view will be copied.

Apply Gap on Routes
Applies gaps between crossing routes.
A gap is applied every time a route crosses another one.

Gaps previously applied every time a route crosses another one are removed.

Create Zone
Creates a schematic zone.
Beforehand, assign a sheet listing schematic zone names to the Zone Names resource of Data Setup Diagram Resources resource set.

Manage Zone Category
Modifies a schematic zone reading direction.
Select the zone category to be modified and choose a new reading direction in the list.

Generate Zones from Patterns
Generates zones on a diagram view following a predefined pattern.
In the Generate Zones from Pattern dialog box, create vertical, horizontal, top, bottom, right or left zones subdivisions by specifying zone categories, zone names, offsets.

Update Applicative Data
Removes unnecessary applicative connections which are pointing to deleted objects.
