About Scope and Traceability

A scope is used to define the context of your traceability analysis, with traceability channels.

Traceability Links

From a scope, you can edit two kinds of links: PLM links and link set links.

PLM links

PLM links are PLM objects. They are visible in Systems Traceability Dashboarding, in Systems Synthesis Analysis, and in any 3DEXPERIENCE app when opening the linked element.

Important: PLM links can be created between PLM objects, provided that:

These objects are in the same 3DSpace.
Implement or refine links are allowed between these objects.

Link set links

Link set links are stored in a link set. They are external to the linked documents, and visible only in Systems Traceability Dashboarding and Systems Synthesis Analysis.

You can also create link set links directly from the link set. For more information, see Creating Links From a Link Set.

Tip: From a scope, you can use more than one link set.

Scope and Traceability Views

Scope Views

From the tree, click a scope node.

The following views are available from the navigation bar:


View	Description
Scope	Displays the root elements and the traceability channels, if any. From this view, you can edit the scope and compute the traceability. See Creating and Editing a Scope
Attribute Selector	Lets you configure the attributes to be displayed for RFLP objects (requirements, functions, logical components and physical objects). See Extracting RFLP Attributes with the Attributes Selector View

Traceability Views

You can enter the traceability mode with one of these methods:

From the tree, select a scope node, and then click Traceability .
From the tree, click the Traceability node.

In the traceability mode, the following views are available from the navigation bar:

View

Description

Overview

Displays the traceability overview for this scope, with the coverage percentage of its elements.

Double-click the coverage percentage to enter the Coverage view.

Error

Displays errors for the scope traceability.

Table

Displays the objects that are linked between several selected elements.

Link

Displays links for an .rqtfimage.

Important: This view is proposed only if an .rqtfimage is selected.

Element Traceability Views

From the traceability Overview, double-click the coverage percentage of an element to display the Coverage view.

The following views are available from the navigation bar:

Description

Coverage

Displays the traceability coverage for an element in the scope.

From the traceability Coverage view, you can edit links.

Error

Displays errors for the scope traceability.

Matrix

Displays in a table the links that are displayed in the Coverage View.

From the traceability Matrix view, you can edit links.

Link

Displays links for an .rqtfimage.

Important: This view is proposed only if an .rqtfimage is selected.
