Opening a Services Document, Services Specification, or Business Document

You can access all the information related to a Services Document, Services Specification, or Business Document.

Required license role: Services Product Manager, Services Product Developer, Services Product Contributor, Services Product Business Metrics, Review and Approve

Note: For a Services Product Business Metrics and Review and Approve user, most of the categories are read-only (no actions are available).

  1. To open a Services Specification or Services Document:
    1. Open the required Services Product. For more information, see Opening a Services Product.
    2. In the navigation pane, click Content.
    3. In the navigation pane, click Specifications to open a Services Specification, or click Reference Documents to open a Services Document.

    To open a Business Document:

    1. Open the task that the Business Document is checked in as a deliverable.
    2. In the navigation pane, click Deliverables.

    You can also use 3DSearch to find the document and open it from the results. For more information, see Predefined Queries.

  2. Click the name of the required document.

    You can use these categories in the navigation pane to access information related to the document:

    Approvals Lists the states and approvals for a document.

    Not available for Review and Approve and Services Product Business Metrics users.

    Files Shows the files checked into the document. For versioning documents, see Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: File List for a Versioning Document.

    Revisions Shows revision information. Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: Document Revisions Page
    Issues Shows issues related to the Document. Also shows related issues if the parent part is connected to any items using the Classified Item relationship. Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: Issues Summary/Issues Category
    Routes Shows routes involving the document and provides access to create a new route. Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: Routes Page and Routes Summary Page
    Discussions Shows the discussions related to the document. Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: Discussions Page for an Object
    Retention Schedules Lists the Retention Schedules that this document has been added to. IP Classification User's Guide: Record Retention Schedule

    Referenced By Only shows for a Services Document.

    Lists the products or other items associated with this document.

    Change Legacy Lists ECRs or ECOs that this document has been added to. It is unlikely that any Services Management documents will have any related ECRs or ECOs.

    ECRs or ECOs might exist if used in a previous software release but are no longer supported.
