What's New

This section describes recent changes in Factory Flow Simulation.

This page discusses:

R2022x FD01 (FP.2205)

Warmup Time Estimation

New commands are available:
  • A new command is available in the Analysis and output section of the action bar: Setup Plot Parameters .
  • Two new commands are available in the FFS Batch Queue dialog box: Plots Statistics and Plots WarmupTime Estimation .
  • A new Warmup Time Estimation type is available in the Type column of the FFS Batch Queue dialog box.
Benefits: These commands offer graphical tools to estimate the approximate warmup time for the current simulation model.
For more information, see Analysis and Ouput Section Estimating the Warmup Time

AGV Trains Management

A new AGV trains functionality is added.
Benefits: This lets you:
  • Define a train with leader and followers
  • Define transport routes for trains
  • Define departure conditions for trains
  • Engage or disengage a train's followers at a decision zone
  • Manage at-risk of collision zones.
For more information, see Managing AGV Trains Managing Over Crowding Zones

Improved Model Definition

Model definition is improved.

In the Edit Working Cycle dialog box, a new Park Worker at Next Task Zone option lets you make the worker wait in the task zone of the next activity in the working cycle once a task is completed.

The steps across all activity creation commands are synchronized.

Double-clicking some action bar commands keeps them active.

The following context menu commands are available:

  • In the 3D viewer, for resources and other factory features: Center Tree.
  • In the Resource Configuration panel:
    • For items: Reframe on, Center Tree, Expand All, Collapse All.
    • Center Tree linked planning entity: it centers the corresponding planning entity on the PPR tree. It is only available if the activity is linked with the planning entity.
  • In the PPR tree, for manufactured items/processes: Reframe on Linked Activities (for planning entities): it reframes the 3D representation of the linked activity.
  • In the PPR tree, when the Resource Configuration panel is active:
    • For resources: Center Tree in resource configuration: it centers the selected resource on the Resource Configuration panel.
    • For manufactured items/processes/operations: Center Tree linked activity (for planning entities): it centers the linked activity on the Resource Configuration panel.
    • For manufactured items/processes with a child node: Center Tree linked activity for selected item and its children: it centers the activities linked to the selected item and its children on the Resource Configuration panel.

Benefits: This makes the task worker move to the task zone of the next activity after he finishes a task.

Defining Pathways without Footprint

A new Generate Path System command is available in the Setup section of the action bar. It opens a new Generate Path System panel.
Benefits: This lets you define pathways for AGVs or workers without specifying a footprint.
