Context Menus

The commands below appear in the context menu for products or filters. The commands are also available when you:

  • Right-click a product or filter either on the home page or in a product list.
  • Click for an open or selected product or filter.

Products

Open
Open the selected product.
Open With
Select an app in which to open the product.
Copy
Select an instance and choose Copy to copy the instance. You can then paste the copy elsewhere (to another product within the current product structure or to another structure). Use the Paste command in the toolbar. This command appears only in Usage view.
Cut
Select an instance and choose Cut to remove the instance from the structure. You can then paste the instance elsewhere. (similar to the Copy command). This command appears only in Usage view.
Replace by
Replace an existing child product with the latest released revision of itself or with another existing product. For more information, see Replacing Products.
Instance Quantity
Select an instance. Then use this command to increase or decrease its quantity.
Set Enterprise item Number
Enter a new or replacement enterprise number.

Expand
Expand the open or selected product to show its tree structure. You can expand to view all levels or only the levels you want. This set of commands is also available in the toolbar. See Product Toolbar.
Delete
Permanently delete the product. Navigate to the home page and right-click a product on the home page list to use this command. This command appears only on the home page context menu.
Remove
Remove the product from the list of Recently Opened objects on the home page. It remains listed under My Products. Navigate to the home page > Quick Access > Recently Opened list to use this command. This command appears only on the home page context menu.
Set Effectivities
Choose from a list of commands to manage variant and evolution effectivities. This command is available when a model is attached to the open product. Choose an object before using the command. These commands appear only in Usage view.

Edit Evolution
For more information, see Editing Evolution Effectivity.
Copy Variant/Option Effectivity
For more information, see Copying and Pasting Variant/Option Effectivity.
Paste Variant/Option Effectivity

Detach
Select an instance and choose Detach to remove the instance from the structure. Unlike a cut instance, a detached instance cannot be pasted elsewhere. This command appears only in Usage view.
Revisions
Manage revisions of the current product.

Revision Explorer
Manage revisions of products based in either the official or projected view of the model.
New Revision
Create a new revision of the object. The object can be a physical product, a 3DPart, a drawing, or document.
Note: Alternate products, if any, for the product structure might not carry over to a new revision. If required, ask your Administrator to enable carryover of alternate products for revisions.

New Branch
Create a branch of the object. For more information, see Creating a Branch.
New Revision From

Create a new revision of an object integrating changes from one of its revisions, duplicates, or branches.

Duplicate
Create a duplicate of the product.
Compare
Compare two products side by side.

Maturity
View and update the lifecycle state.

Lock
Lock the product so that you can work on it exclusively.

Unlock
Unlock the product to enable others to work on it.
For more information, see Unlock a Product.
Move to
Transfer the product to another person, collaborative space, or organization. For more information, see Moving Objects to Another Collaborative Space or Organization.
Share
Provide another user with read or edit access to an object. The object can be a physical product, a 3DPart, a drawing, or document. For more information, see Sharing Objects with Other Users.
Relations
View the relationships that the product has to other objects. For more information, see Relations.
Subscriptions
Choose from a list of commands to manage notifications for an object such as when the object is revised or promoted. Choose an object before choosing a command. The object can be either a Physical Product, 3DPart, or 3DShape. For more information, see Subscriptions.
Information
Open the Information panel to view properties, attachments, changes, and other information about the product. For more information, see Information.

Alternate Items

Open with
Open the alternate item in Engineering Release or another application.
Alternate Properties
View change management and other properties
Change Usage to
Select a command to modify how the object is to be used as an alternate product.
Qualify
Qualify the alternate product.
Remove
Remove the object as an alternate product. Qualification status must be 'Proposed' to be removed.
Obsolete
Make the alternate product obsolete. Qualification status must be 'Qualified' to become obsolete.
Maturity
View and change the maturity state of the alternate product.
Relations
Explore the relationship of the alternate product to other objects. For more information, see Exploring Relations of Alternate Products.

Filters

When you search for a filter, you can open it or view its related objects from the list of search results. Clickfor the filter and select from these options:

Relations
Explore the relationship of the filter to other objects.
Delete
Delete the filter from the database.
Preview
Use viewing tools to examine the filter and its properties.
Open With
Select an app in which to open the filter.

Specification Documents

Edit
Check out a document to edit it. The document is locked to prevent other users from editing it.
Update
Check in a document that you have checked out and edited. The document is uploaded with your updates and unlocked.
Undo Edit
Cancel editing a document that you have checked out. The document is unlocked with no updates.
