Building Section: Primary Area

The primary area of the Building section provides commands for creating and designing your building project. It also provides commands for specifying the active story and for showing and hiding the building and spaces.

Displays the Space Browser, which shows the project space requirements by Departments, Sub-Departments, Space types, and Spaces.

Space Program
Displays a work area spreadsheet version of your building requirements.

Color Spaces by Category
Applies colors to space volumes based on the space's assigned type, sub-department, or department.

Building Estimator
Displays the specifications for various building components.

Door Window Schedule
Displays a schedule that summarizes door and window data for all doors and windows in the model.


Import Space Requirements
Opens an Import Excel file dialog box, where you can select and open your building program spreadsheet to import into Buildings Space Planning.

Wall
Adds one or more walls.

Slab
Creates a slab.

Slab Opening
Creates a slab opening that passes through one or more stories.

Column Reservation
Creates an area extending up one story. Use for options such as a column cover and a walled enclosure.

Opens the Insert Component dialog box, where you can select to insert an Opening, Doors, Windows, Fixtures, Furniture, or Equipment. You can place components at selected points.


Import Building Components
Installs the latest content in your library. Downloads and updates the library from Content Central.
