Primary Area

The primary area of the Instruction Authoring section provides commands for creating different kinds of work instructions and for adding snapshots of operations to the instructions.

Activate Views for Operation
Selecting this command undoes a previous Deactivate Views for Operation command. Activation means views are visible when you play the operation sequence.

Deactivate Views for Operation
Deactivate the views for an operation to avoid seeing the views when you play the operation sequence.

Redraw Views for Operation
Redraw the thumbnails of views for an operation.

Delete All Views for Operation
Select the operation and click to delete all the views.

Label

Measure Item
Measures properties associated with a selected item.

Sectioning
Creates volume cuts of the visual representation.

Instruction Authoring
From the Instruction Authoring Secondary Action bar, select the commands.

Instruction Assignment Manager
Assign instructions to Views.
Select a Textual Instruction, a Data Collect Plan Row or a View under the Operation. Use the double arrows to select from the Assignable items.

Define Resource Sub Component

Display FTA for Items
Shows FTA data attached to the design of the items.

Insert Image from FTA Capture

Manipulate
Manipulation Move a component by freehand translation or rotation with the mouse.

Flyout for Creating Markers

Note: To copy and paste the Markers, the current Operation (for which Views are being authored) needs to be made the UI active object to enable the paste of Markers. To do this, make the PPR tree visible (if not already visible) and then double-click the current Operation to make it the UI active object. A blue rectangle / background behind an object's name in the tree is an indicator that is it the UI active object. After creating the Marker, right-click and select copy, then make sure it is active, and select Paste. For quick multiple pastes, use Ctrl + V.
